Hey everyone! Adrien here to give you a heads up on the Flames of War tourney at The Foundry in Huntsville, AL this Saturday. Our local community has been working really hard to pull this event together, and have pulled together ten full tables of gorgeous 15mm terrain. Many of you will recognize our Tournament Organizer as SonBae here on the forums. We're excited to be able to reach out to the general community to meet new folks!
No army? No problem! We have several fully painted loaner armies ready to go! To reserve a loaner army, you need to get an email with your request to [email protected] by 8pm on Thursday.
This tournament is our first real foray as a community into the FoW competitive scene, so have no fear of showing up and getting hammered by highly experienced players. To pre-register, shoot us an email at: [email protected] or call 256-213-7467.

- Tables consist of a variety of terrain (urban, desert, wadi, village, light forest, streams, hills, etc.). Matches will be randomly assigned to a table.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for Best Overall, 2nd & 3rd place (and if enough players Best Allied and Best Axis player). Scores will be based on game results. Tournament officials will also rate armies during the lunch break using the Games Workshop Golden Daemon rating scheme and award a separate Best Painted Army award at the end of the tournament. Prize support is provided by our gracious hosts, The Foundry.
Rules Clarifications
Players can, and should, resolve rules questions themselves. Should players not be able to come to an agreement, the Tournament Organizer is available to make a ruling.
To assist players the following rules clarifications will be used:
- "Ambushing Pioneer Supply Vehicles (PSV):" PSVs that are in ambush reveal their obstacles when the unit is declared to be in ambush.
- It is preferred that aircraft be on the "new" Battlefront standard oval aircraft bases. In the event aircraft are not, measure to a spot 2.5 inches up from the table to determine the aircraft's location.
- Hills. Several tables will have "sculpted" hills. These tables will be identified as such and "hulldown" status is earned from true line of sight. On tables with "flat topped" hills, players can claim hull down concealment if the hull is just behind where the crest of the hill would be if it were not a flat game hill. The crest is defined as an imaginary line running along the center of the hill.
- Terrain types for each board will be identified with a handout at each table.
