Thunderwolf Mounts

The rule says that if a char has a thunderwolf mount he can only join TWC or Fenrisian wolves BUT it does not say that if a model does NOT have a thundewolf mount they can NOT join a squad of TWC.

So my question is can I have a rune priest who is just walking around join my TWC?

i think under the thunder wolf entry in wargear it says that they can only join wolves or thunderwolves. i dont have a dex in front of me. question is why would you hinder the movement of the squad with a runepriest when he would be better suited with hunters or wolf guard?

ive seen this question asked a bunch lately, mainly for a wolf priest with saga of the hunter to outflank the unit. the answer is no. stop trying to find loopholes and enjoy our awesome codex in this new edition
