Hi all,
I'm just having a discussion with a friend about a game over the weekend. I had 5 paladins with a librarian in a unit. In a previous phase a paladin took a wound. In the next phase the Librarian took a wound and I decided to use LoS. Does this have to be done by the paladin with a wound missing already or can it be done by ANY of my other paladins?

In terms of sportsmanship, I'd allocate to the wounded Paladin. However, LoS does allow you to nominate who takes the hit.

In GW failure at proper play testing you can use the LoS rule to allocate either an unsaved wound to any other model in the squad regardless of of whether there are other models with wounds already on them. This is just the 'new black' to complex unit multi - wound shenanigans we had in 5th only now its on cheaper units since you don't have to complex them. Yes there is a 16% chance to fail the LoS on the Librarian but the randomness is what Matt (I suck at game design) Ward wanted to some degree.

Welcome to the forum clarkie! As a friendly piece of advice for future posts, there is a rules forum dedicated to queries and discussions such as this. As to your query, there are no restrictions on which other model in the unit you can place it on (other than one within 6"), so it is entirely up to you. As Mystery says it all depends on how sporting you want to be.

I call bull**** on the idea that trying to keep your models alive in a perfectly legal fashion is unsportsmanlike. In fact, I would call it unsportsmanlike to demand that my opponent do something like that, and unsportsmanlike to pull my punches and insult my opponent's skill.

Either way, you can unquestionably put the wound on whomever you so desire. Which is dumb on GW's part. LOS should have been completely dropped.

So don't do it. Re-read what I wrote, and only what I wrote. That's right, I was discussing my own personal pecadillo, rather than making some kind of judgement about what Sportsmanship should be....

OR:

LoS can only be allocated to a single model once. In other words, if you've used one model to LoS, you cannot use him to LoS again.

Thanks everyone, I was of the understanding that I could put it on whoever I wanted, but he disagreed. I ended up just doing it to stop any arguments, but next time it'll be different! (Plus I'll use the rules section for queries! :P)
