Howdy.

Some of my Silver Skull space marines. I went with the old Rouge trader fluff of these guys being headhunters and added lots of heads and skulls onto the armor.

Still this is very much a WIP progress army, but here are some of the finished units.

C&C welcome! Thanks!

Great work on those. I really dig the RT approach you've taken, especially with those kill markings and writings on the ML. Skull trophies and facepaint rocks, too. I also like the subtle purity seals and how they're not standard red wax. All in all, I get a lovely retro vibe with those models.

Only thing I can complain about: The brushed metal may give their armour a nice, textured effect, but in places where the models lack definition it kinda lacks some quick black lining to set the plates apart from each other. Example: The foot area of the guy on the last pic. That could be a quick fix that would add even more quality.

All in all, keep it up, can't wait to see more of them. On a different note, I think some yellow-black warning stripe patters would really fit into the scheme, if you're still open for suggestions... might look too much like Iron Warriors, though.

They look good, and I like the tattoos on the bare heads.

I'm not so much a fan of the silver-blue helmet look which I think came in the current Marine Codex, but it's grown on me a bit after seeing these.

Thanks all.

I know what ya'll mean about another quick silver army washed with badaab black. Most folks say they are surprised to see a metallic army that does'nt look like it was done by an ADD 10 yr old sugared up on Mountain Dew and Skittles.

I have tried to make a good looking army, while not overly detailed, but nice looking and eye catching.

my recipe is simple. Base color with P3 pig iron or GW boltgun, wash with badaab black a couple times, then wash with devlan mud, then dry brush with P3 pig iron or GW bolt gun. Helmet is mithril silver, washed with the old GW blue ink, or the new P3 blue ink, then add Mithril silver with a little blue added and then finally with pure silver.

I like the ease of this because I then have time to add little details like kill marks, tattoos and other details since I don't spend a lot of time on the main marine body.
