Just looked at the new pdf for the space marine rapier carrier battery. It has a 40k logo and includes that it may be taken as heavy for particular armies. Other pdfs may be the same from here on out... Thoughts?

In last year's Imperial Armour Apocalypse 2nd edition they started adding the '40k' label. It means those units and rules are intended and 'balanced' for regular 40k size games (i.e. not just apocalypse).

Our LGS allows these in regular games. It's a great way to encourage us to buy the kits and adds some great flavor to the games.

180pts for 3 twin linked low ap ordynance shots that can be hiden behind an aegis line, have+3sv and t7 with ok range too . or one can put with a techi in to upgrade fortification with 1 marine from each batter in front and the other behind the rapier . a bit static , but its like a triple blast predator. that has to lose 5 wounds to get first weapon destroyed.

Indeed, and the Predator Executioner does not have Gets Hot on its plasma destroyer cannon!

EDIT: Hmm, and with the changes to blasts and AP2, it's suddenly looking like a very versatile weapons platform...
My Knights of the Ardent Flame may have to acquire one. Good thing they have close ties with the Mechanicum... :)

Well, most if not all weapons on vehicles and walkers do not have the "Gets Hot!" rule...

If the weapon itself has gets hot, it gets carried to the vehicle, plasma executioner-platform is more of a exception to this..

- Plasma cannons: leman russ sponsons, dreadnoughts, sentinels etc who can get it still gets hot.
- Those plasma gun variants on FW chaos walkers (decimators / contemptors?): Gets hot.
- Not sure about how the wording is on that necron ability that makes (if i remember correctly) flamer and melta weapons gets hot?

So there are plenty of gets hot for vehicles!

Plasma cannons do - though I just double-checked and indeed it seems the executioner plasma cannon on the Leman Russ Executioner does not...I had only assumed.

Thanks. :)
