Greetings, troops! I am a longtime Bug player who is starting a new Blood Angel army. I have a basic question. I see that a Librarian can be an HQ. I also see that a Furioso Dread can be upgraded to a Librarian. So, can I use a Librarian Dread as my HQ?
Thanks in advance! Cope

Nope, the furioso is always an elite option, just think of it as a change of wargear.

Basically, Librarian Dreadnought =/= Librarian. They have similar names and some rules similarities, but the Libby Dread is still an Elites choice.

Gotcha. Thanks. I'll probably be posting a bunch of questions as I get familiar with this new (to me) codex.

yeah, the Entry is Furiosos, option Librarian.
Otherwise, it would be Entry: Captain, options: Dreadnought.
Although, I wish I could take HQ Dreads. I just don't want to use Space Puppies. Puppies soil things...

On the one hand, a Librarian Dread HQ would be awesome.
On the other hand, the basic Blood Angels librarian is a great support unit when fielded with anything from Assault Terminators to ordinary Assault Marines.
I'm not sure which my "final" list would include, but I'd definitely try both.

I have always liked Epistolaries, and I have a Terminator Libby with a stormshield and sword. I think I might roll on the tables that grant 2 Warp Charge powers.

Consider this, 3 elite options all Libby Dreads, 2HQ 2 libbs, now for allies (hmm how to get moar pyshcers) GKs anyone?
Or, 1 Libby HQ + Astrorath
then 3 DC units 3DC Dreads,
3 Heavy dreads
that is 9 Dreads in the list, 3 of which could fly :)

Tyranids can get the most psykers, space wolves can also take 2 rune priests per HQ slot.

The Forgeworld Chaplain Dreadnought Titus (named dreadnought) is an HQ choice and from Imperial Armour 9.

Yes, but many FLGS don't allow FW in most games and you end up using your FW stuff only a couple times a year, that's the reason I don't have any FW myself.

That's too bad. We allow the '40k' stamped units at our store. Although because I'm nice, I don't bring the Warp Hunter too often!
