Hi all,
I know that in the current CSM codex, it stated that only Terminators, obliterators and lesser daemon can get the benefit of the Icon of Chaos when deepstriking (or teleporting) into the battlefield. I just want to know that did anyone wonder that it can be used to guide the allied Chaos Daemons too? What do you think?
Thanks
Rulewise, no. It's an unrelated unit from an entirely different codex. Might make sense thematically but it isn't supported in actual gameplay.

Yes, Soon as allies were announced, I looked that up. No, Chaos Space Marine Icons cannot guide anything beside Terminators, Obliterators and the generic "Lesser Daemons".
However, the Chaos Daemon Icon CAN guide anything from Chaos Space Marines..... Including Jump Infantry and any other Deep Striking unit.

Interesting, I’ve never thought in that way round. However, as my primary detachment is chaos space marines, I don’t know if it can be useful.:(

Aye, it's not the most useful since Chaos Marines aren't a very Deep-Strikey army, but seeing as how you can get that Daemon Icon first turn if you want via Daemonic Assault, and deep strike terminators, raptors, the other daemons, etc on Turn 2.
