Rulebook p80 states that when a vehicle is Wrecked the transported unit Disembarks (as per normal) but must end wholly within 3" (of an Access Point). Any models not placed are removed.
This can really hurt vehicles with only a single Access Point (like the Eldar Falcon and Wave Serpent) containing a large unit. Really hard to place 10-12 models within 3"

3" from an access point is really huge unless said point is covered by enemy troops. I can put 18 minis 3" from the back of a serpent easily. A base is 1"

3" from the access point was the maximum legal disembark for most units in the previous edition:
2" from door + 1" base size.
Functionally its exactly the same.

Don't forget - if it's a skimmer, you can use the base itself as an access point. Eldar and Tau transports are all skimmers.

And also donīt fall for the "door blocked-unit lost" approach. A unit can emergency disembark anywhere in contact with hull and call it pinned for a turn.

Where is that? I know that Flyers can embark disembark from the base, but I don't see where skimmers can.
BRB p83 states that the skimmer's base is effectively ignored except when being assaulted or rammed.

the new wording actually gives you a tad more space. Before, they had to be within 2 inches. That meant part of the base had to be in the 2 inch limit, now you can have them right out side teh two inch limit and in that 3rd inch fully (playing tothe letter of the law of course, as most people put them at that 2 inch mark and never worried about being INSIDE teh two inches).
(this is for 25 mm bases of course, sicne they are technically smaller than an inch).

On the devilfish, there are three acess points clearly modeled, it's just that two of them are nonfunctional unless you are really good at scratch modeling: the side doors are there, they just don't open unlless you can fabricate a hinge. I dunno about Eldar stuff.

Chimera are the same, I'm not too worried though.
