So yeah, I now live completely independently from my parents, I moved in on Monday and I can already tell that this change is worth it.
Since moving in I have not actually spent that much time at home, just going back there to sleep really. I can actually hang out with my friends outside of the weekends! It's awesome, and I truly recommend it to anyone.

The downside, I am not elligable for government grant for insulating my house, so I ended up spending £12k on external wall insulation, which has the bonus of making my house look nice and has redeuced my gas usage, my gas supplier currently owes me £130 yay!, but I do get annoyed the girl next to me got her wall insualtion for £8 grumble grumble grumble

Ok, it's not actually a concrete bunker, it is a poured concrete house. The walls are 2ft deep concrete, the internal ones are 8" deep concrete. All I have to do is block up the windows and I am bomb proof, that and sort out the roof, but nobody drops bombs from the sky now-a-days that is so 1940s

Nope, there are loads of them, built just after the war, the trouble is if it made with fine aggregates then there is a risk of subsidence and a possible link to lung cancer, though this is still to be proven.

I once worked somewhere that had an asbestos survey done, and you know out of the entire building what they found was asbestos? The toilet seats on the staff toilets. I mean WTF? :eek:
