I have noticed that the Tau portion of the GW website has changed and the Boradsides are no longer available from the GW webstore.

Any idea what if anything this means?

New plastic kit.

Or a Finecast rebox, but hopefully new plastics. (to my knowledge, the Broadsides aren't Finecast yet? correct me if I'm wrong.)

I'm going to keep hoping for a new Tau codex with some resculpts.

Tau metals recast to finecast releasing July 28th. No codex til 2013. Sorry, nothing new yet.

This is GW's release schedule, the Tau are getting a Finecast release (http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2012/06/breaking-6th-edition-prices-and-items.html).

I noticed this yesterday. You can still actually buy them form the webiste. They aren;t listed under the heavy support, but they still appear in the 'recommended purchases' section on the right of the page when browsing other Tau units, and can be clicked on and bought that way. Which is a bit odd.

Finecast for now, likely a plastic crisis suit/broadside/commander/farsight kit in plastic next year.

Could be.

For right now though, in Canada at least, it's cheaper to buy the FW Broadside variant than one through GW.

Battlesuit + upgrade sprue comes in around $47, and one from FW comes in around $45. Not that I'm buying any more Tau until they get a new book, but I thought that's interesting.

Nice, for me it's cheaper to buy the GW one, but not by much. What I find funny it's cheaper to buy the 4 shield drone full pack, than it is to buy the conversion pack. That's not including the four gun drones I need to buy as well.

Wait, what? What full Shield Drone pack?

This one :).

Anyone notice how cheap XV15 suits are? :O 3 for £12... Christ, they even lowered the prices of the Khymera for Dark Eldar, well.. They doubled the ammount you get for the same money :)

Not that - that's the upgrade pack. I mean whatever he's talking about:

But yeah, I did notice the sweet price-point on the old-school stealth suits.
Not sure about the Kroot/Vespid stuff in Finecast though...kinda pricey.
Pathfinders are looking a bit more appealing now that they aren't metal, and they're not priced too badly.

They are, but you still have to buy them in three's and can only field in units of 8. Roll on the plastic box set.
