OK, so 6th edition is out. I think it is a great rulebook, but at 400-odd pages, it is not the most portable rulebook. In fact, I think it comes with the Unwieldy special rule.

I know the starter box will have a smaller rulebook like the others and I will probably get that. However, I have to admit that the small print in those starter set rulebooks are getting a little tougher for me to focus on.

So I was wondering if anyone besides me would be happy to drop $30 or so on a codex-sized version of the rulebook with only the rules. No fluff, no hobby section, etc. That would cut it down to a paperback with around 120 pages, similar to the Space Marine codex. If so, I wonder what is the best way to get that feedback to GW to see if they will consider printing one.

I guess I would also consider paying $30 or so for an electronic version (again, just the rules).

I'll have to assume that GW will release a digital copy that I would be all over

That's what the boxed set is for yes?

It needs its own carrier, like a leather man-bag!
But I do like the minibook and when the box set comes out I'll get that for the book :) and bonus models

I'll only buy a lighter (and much, much, much cheaper) book.

absolutely... i think the BRB is very well done, but it's such a pain in the butt to haul around. the black reach small book was pretty much perfect (no eyesight issues - at least with that!). personally, not a big fan of digital books, but that's just me and i tend to be kind of a luddite when it comes to looking things up/researching/referencing (post-it notes are about as high tech as i get with that!)

The book comes with the Unwieldy and Douchebane usr's with makes it perfect. Personally, I like having the bRB on me during games... it is something to read, and makes n00bs pay attention.

I don't have a problem with the size and weight of the BRB... then again, I'm still a student and have to deal with course texts that can be twice the size of the thing.

I hate trying to page through that big, bulky, rulebook. I cant wait to get my hands on a smaller one when the starter sets come out.

I'm hoping for an official pdf so that I can carry around the rulebook and codices on my phone or laptop. There's no way I'm lugging that giant tome around with me, especially not when it's so expensive and likely to get damaged or stolen unless I watch it like a hawk. I'd rather just leave it at home.

I agree that the lighter BRB (if it’s in starter set) is much more convenient when playing. Though, it is my first time buying this hard-back BRB, so I’m impressive.
