Release Day Merchandise!

head over the GW blog (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/wnt/blog.jsp?pid=2700242) and read about the merchandise they are selling in store on release day. Lanyards, a belt etc. the belt comes with a worrying sentence

at what point, in store, have any of you ever encountered an emergency that has required immediate trouser removal? In fact, don't limit that to in store (and don't take it wrong or out of context!), but what kind of emergency is solved by rapid trouser removal!

i am disappointed that they are only doing 3 space marine lanyards. A Necron one would have tempted me but as i don't collect any of those chapters it seems a bit pointless. They should have done less specific ones. Just done a Generic Marine, a Generic Chaos (starry goodness), and a Generic Guard one or something. appeals to a wider range of people then! Also considering the Rumours of Dangles being in the New Box Set i am surprised they didn't get one!

again though would have been too specific to be appreciated by the masses! i say they should have done a generic one for each army, nobody gets left out (ok maybe leave out tau because they never get any love!)

With regard to the lanyard, I would find it useful, I have to have a photo id card on me at all times at work and doubles as my access point to various parts of my building.

I noticed a few weeks ago that my local GW manager had put a load of pin badges on his GW ID lanyard I said to him then that he should suggest to the Powers That Be to sell them and more pin badges so the little fan boys can buy and sell them.

We go on holiday to Wales to Haven holiday parks, they run the same deal there where all the kids trade and swap the pin badges like fiends. I thought it'd be nice if the did the pin badges for about £2.50, would make a change for a nipper to go instore with just their pocket money and come out with something other than a pot of paint.

Anyway, I'm not saying it was my suggestion, but I'm glad I was thinking on the right track, love the Beanie hats.

Hazaar... I don't actually feel any desire to purchase these items... Even for a staunch agent of the Imperium, why so much Space Marine love? I'd prefer the actual Aquilla design as it looks nicer to the winged skull, yet i'd also have prefered Xeno's iconography :D

The special merchandise was only available in quantities of 10 of each item per store. It surely sold out very quickly on Saturday, June 30. Here are some details:

- A web belt with Cadian style badge belt buckle (very nice, only $6, I'm wearing it now)
- A knit winter cap with embroidered Cadian style badge ($6, got that one too)
- Lanyards with Salamanders, Crimson Fists and Ultramarines symbols on them. (only $3, got one of each)
