For my 2nd topic today, 6th edition! The thing that everyone is raving about!

On the 30th June, 6th edition shall release, and to celebrate GW Shrewsbury shall be giving out doughnuts to read the lovely new rules with, but that's not all!

We will also be playing as many 750 point games AS POSSIBLE.
I'm trying to think of a Necron army, but I just can't, any suggestions or tips?
I'd like a variety of units and unit types to test out the new rules.

As an addendum, which other stores are celebrating the release?

I've also just realised, that I have arranged to help out at an event on Saturday as well :(.
Are the doughnuts a cunning ploy so you get sugar and jam across your new rule book so have to buy another?
As for the army, I'd take a monolith, res-orb lord and as many warriors as I can fit with the left over points (foing 6th ed, old skool)

I, for one, will be eating the doughnuts before the book reading, then I shall go and wash my hands, then read it. :D
Good thought though.

Ooooh! I'll have to ask mine whether that's happening or not.
That'd be good, I'll be in Shrewsbury anyway. :D

At a guess, is this Gary? :D

Yeah, it's none too bad, we've had a LOT of staff changes over the years. We can't go upstairs anymore due to safety regulations, but everyone is trundling along.

You are aware the quote from ChaosChrist is

That's why one brings a servant to feed him donuts ;)
So you bring along a servant to feed doughnuts to, not that the servant feeds you doughnuts.

Also imagine a Dougnaut some kind of stay puff vs dreadnought combo

Having worked in a bakery for the better part of 9 years I have to agree with this, jam is horrible stuff and is a nightmare to clean the jaming machine afterwards. Custard is easy to clean up, and tastes far better too.

9:30. Go out of flat
9:33. Go to Cafe, have hearty full English Breakfast
9:55. Bully my way past the Grots with eggy farts and general threats to front of queue.
10:00. Pick up Gamer's Edition
10:01. Commence Gibbering
10:45. Take a breath
10:45 and a few seconds. Recommence Gibbering
12:00. Hiss at others, refering to book as my precious
12:01. Cackle maniacally
12:02. Nick off up pub to meet my chums
12:15 (roughly) buy a pint
And from there a mix of drinking, rules reading, and general geekery. Oh, and list writing and re-writing.

If anyone would care to join us, the venue is the Royal Oak pub, Tunbridge Wells (do NOT confuse it with the one in Pembury) and all are extremely welcome. It's CAMRA listed, and may even be in the throws of a Beer Festival to boot (no, REALLY!).

I am at Goodwood festival of speed this weekend, hi octane action, beer, no wives and plenty of eye candy. I still kind of wish I wasn't going now :).
Oh well, it will be waiting for me when I get back on monday.
