why is no one jumping on this little tidbit of rumour news?

From Showcase Comics facebook page, a game store in Media, Pennsylvania:

"The 6th edtion 40k launch party on June 30th is going to be stupidly large and fun. It now coincides with our monthly tournament. Finally got some hard confirmation that I'll have the books on the 30th and out for sale. All the safety features are off, and the reactor needle is heading for the red zone!"

So i guess this pretty much confirms a June 30th release date?

It seems pretty obvious when the release date is without that rumour, I would guess is why.

The fact that GW had a '6' teaser trailer for something on the 23rd makes it 99.99% certain that on the 23rd they're announcing 6th Edition, which means it will be up for pre-order for the next week.

Alternatively, the guy who runs Durham, UK store won't allow any hint of what the 23rd is. When I asked how much the next edition of Walletbuster 40,000 was, the comment was swiftly deleted. Earlier posts on the wall also indicate that "he won't allow any rumours". Of course, given that there's no other rumours involving a 6, you can imagine what's being deleted.

He's a good guy, so I'm not going to twist about him, but damn are Games Workshop stupid. I don't think telling us a week before release will make any difference to telling us a month in advance, and if they had any sense they would have the blog yabbering on about it non-stop, rather than the Flickr pool.

Sure, it would generate a lot of "duck, I'm quitting", but it's a long esablished fact that anyone with a hobby is a twisty *******.

The rumours have got very quite. I think I'll go create myself a new profile on Dakka Dakka and post some made up ones just to keep people Happy:D
