Evening!

So I've been on here for a couple of weeks now, having migrated following a ban from Dakka and Warseer.

And I have to say, I really like this Forum! Whereas Dakka seemed like an elitist UGS, and Warseer is a bit too concerned with the family friendly, BoLS feels like I'm posting in a GW Store. Everyone is here to talk about the same subject, and whilst there is a healthy mix of opinions, there doesn't seem to be the rampant, self aggrandising negativity about something you'er supposed to enjoy! And whilst there are certainly prolific posters, the cult of personality doesn't seem to have taken root.

As someone who's banned from the BOLS main page and a couple other forums, I agree with both the above sentiments!

Ah Warseer is ok. The Forum is usually good. Shame about the Mods who tend to be overzealous at times.

While I've never been banned from Warseer (yet), and I don't bother myself with the elitism of Dakka, I will say that the BoLS forum has proven surprising civil, despite how the article comment threads tend to go on BoLS. I do however maintain that if you are an Ork player, and love Orks, then there's only one Forum on the Internet fully worth your time, and that's The-Waaagh.com. Anywhere else, is weedy.

And welcome to the forums, I have been reading your posts and threads and have enjoyed your input Mr Mystery. Some times the debates can get a bit heated here, but for the most its all done with a certain sense of humour, after all we all talking about toy soldiers :) and those 3 above me will lighten up any thread nicely.

Ah Warseer is ok. The Forum is usually good. Shame about the Mods who tend to be overzealous at times.

Warseer: Moderators closing threads for asinine reasons, rudely treating people like children and then completely failing to uphold ToS when one of their "super-posters" decides to make derogatory comments about someone's nationality or go on a tirade against anyone with a different opinion. They have a core of active posters who completely dictate all discussions and hammer down on anyone who doesn't agree with them. I think they are mad because they have been loyally waiting for their thug paychecks from GW for many years now and still haven't received them!

I was an active member on Warseer for nearly 7 years and I finally admitted to myself that I might be a lot happier somewhere else. I wasn't banned or chased off; I just had enough of their crap.

So far I've done a lot more reading here than posting, but I like what I see. :D

I merely suggested some fashion items with suitable slogans on them, do the staff could see the man for who and what he is. I then further explained of the slogans were a tad long, he could perhaps just use the acronym of each. I had no idea the acronyms could be so rude, and poignant!

Welcome! I've never braved the terrible waters of Warseer, but I can attest that this forum is infinitely more palatable than Dakka, which, while I do go there to read on occasion, is way to bytchy and juvenille for me.

You'll notice here that, while we do have some "super-posters" everyone is generally very amiable, and even in our most heated discussions, you should find that most posters are able to remain patient and rational. Hell, even our thread derailers (you know who you are :D ) are harmless and quite frankly, pretty hilarious. They're sort of like what would happen if someone loosed the Three Stooges on an internet forum.

Anyhoo, welcome aboard. The water's warm, the drinks are plentiful, and the women are....bountiful for a toy soldiers forum. Sort of :D
