Tamiya X series alcohol paints as a wash?

i've been trying different combinations of paints, inks and thinners to get an effect i desire. So far, i've found about six different ways on how not to make a wash.

So, I'm wondering. Has anyone tried the Tamiya x series (water soluble but alcohol based) of paints thinned down with their thinner to achieve a good ink/wash?

Hi,

I use 'em all the time, they work very well.

My best washes used the Tamiya paint with water, some artist's acrylic matte medium (to get it the right consistency), and a drop or two of flow improver.
