I'm still trying to make up my mind. Last year was the worst Games Day I'd ever been to. The best bit was the forge world stand. Which you can see at their open day without spending £30.

GW did have a lot of bad feedback last year and faced a hard choice.
Option 1) Reduce the gaming and stand area to increase the forge world sales,
Option 2) Keep the sales area the same size and have an hour long queue again
Option 3) Hire another hall just for the sales area and put up the ticket price (or at least not give away a model with the ticket). Ding Ding Ding Ding
But at least they did something.
I preferred option 4 though tell people to pre-order from forge world unless they want to spend the day queuing, then say we told you so afterwards when everyone is complaining:)

For me the most exciting thing about Gamesday (in the past) was finding out what was coming over the next year. Now they don't do that anymore, it's all about Forge World.

I hope they get Armies on parade sorted out as well. You could hardly see the models they were so far away last year. If I do go this year I'll be taking a telescope!

That said I may go to take some picture for my website and not buy the Limited edition blood angel even though I have a blood angle army. It may be more exciting as in theory there's a larger display and gaming area this year. I could also get Matt Ward to sign my 6th edition rule book while I'm at it(assuming he wrote it). Oh go on then, there's no point sitting at home thinking I could have gone and let Matt Ward know what I think about his rule-set compared to the one that was leaked on the internet (no of course I didn't download is but I know what was in it ;) ).

PROTIP: A really good idea for something to do at Games Day in terms of keeping things interesting is to establish an area of the seating with your close friends as a sort of 'base area'. That way, you can all go off and do stuff in groups and know where you're all meeting up and stuff to discuss things and such. We started doing it with the guys from the Shrewsbury GW some years ago and it's really helped.

I would like to thank everyone that turned up for making it a huge success, apparently far more so than last years hide and seek.
And to tell anyone who went to the blue space marine - that was the wrong one.

I yoyo'd between both marines, before, during and after 1pm but didn't see anyone.

Got bored, had bacon and then went to the pub.

Me, Psycho, and Up The Walls were at the Space Marine from 1pm until 1.15pm then we got bored.
