I was looking through white dwarf at the new flyers and thinking about there current high points cost.

The rules in 6th are largely rumoured to compare ballistics skill to troop type/speed.

Seeing as it seems the movements rules/to hit rules are going to be totally turned on their head suddenly flyers seem worth their while.

I suspect our flyers will spend a large portion of their time needing a 6 to get hit. Factor this in with our current points cost for them and they suddenly become far more cost effective.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing what will happen here.

cheers

If there is a tougher to hit effect then the cover save will likely be lost. Still don't see how they are going to do this , BS modifiers makes the most sense but 40K has generally steered clear of modifiers (left to fantasy) as a key mechanic. Orks will love flat rate to hit rolls. ;)

There is currently no such thing as a flyer type so not sure how they will go abput shoehorning this in.

If the cover save were lost, then Dark Eldar with their Invulnerable save would suddenly be very impressive.

6th edition will almost certainly bring some changes to vehicles, and I suspect Fast Skimmers of all types in particular. Sadly, this is not the best time nor place for rules speculation.
