Despite it being announced 18 months ago, I only just found out about this now:

One hundred years have passed since the Spellplague forever changed the magical and mysterious lands of Faerūn. Mighty empires fell and great cities toppled, leaving only monster-haunted ruins and survivors struggling to rebuild.

The city of Neverwinter, the Jewel of the North, seemed blessed by the gods. While the rest of the Sword Coast was devastated by the event, Neverwinter survived largely intact. But this was only a temporary reprieve from its inevitable doom. Nearly 75 years later, a volcanic eruption rained fire, ash and molten fury upon the city, annihilating everything in its wake.

Today, Neverwinter has restored much of its former glory. Lord Neverember of Waterdeep has taken the city under his protection and put forth a call to all adventurers and heroes of the Savage North to help rebuild Neverwinter in the hopes that one day he can lay claim to her throne and crown. But evil forces conspire in the dark places of the world, seeking to undermine all...

Forgotten Realms is my favourite DnD setting, or it was until the Spellplague nonsense brutally sodomised it. Regardless, very excited about this. Dungeons and Dragons Online never did much for me due to the setting, this has me interested.

One interesting feature is The Foundry, a way of adding user generated content to the game. Cryptic tried something similar to Star Trek Online with moderate success, I'm hoping they willget it right for this. If they really want a successul DnD MMO you need to have player generated content.

So, anyone else even vaguely interested in this?

That looks REALLY good for a F2P MMO, I will have to have a look into this...

It does look rather promising, hope they can deliver. I've little experience with Cryptic beyond twleve hours put into Stat Trek online (which is fune if a little clunky).

I've updated the OP with two new trailers, a lore trailer and a gameplay trailer.

Good thing that I'm already familiar with DnD lore. :D

Article on Forbes entitled 'Two reasons to try Neverwinter (http://www.forbes.com/sites/danieltack/2013/04/24/two-reasons-to-try-neverwinter/)' in a fantasy saturated MMO market.

Hmm I think I will stick with Dungeons & Dragons Online, especially as they have Forgotten Realms content too (though theirs is set in Cormyr which thankfully was not brutally sodomised by the Spellplague) and another big expansion of that part of the game due this summer.

Oh, this looks good.

World of Tanks has been providing me with colic infant stress relief but this may be exactly what I need. ;)

Oh matey I have been there and it's a crap experience, you have my sympathys :)

The trailers are quite interesting, and F2P too. Obviously there will be premium content you have to pay for. Still could be good.

Thanks Dead. It's been a rough first 7 weeks. (Colic, acid reflux, and a wheat sensitivity--which means my carb-loving, marathon-running wife needs to eat gluten-free--kill me now...). I can't wait until the colic is over... :)

Kirsten: digging it so far (the little that I can play) but its making me feel noobish. Getting schooled by the long-term players slumming it in tier 2 and 3.

fair enough, I have gotten two ace tank badges (better than 99% of others with the same tank) and one first class (better than 95%) and a couple of second and third, soI am feeling pretty good about myself so far, been playing about two weeks now.

I actually got to play for about four hours last night. (I must have appeased the gods or something.) made it tier 4 M3 Medium Tank (no chance to play it yet.) so far, I'm finding theTank Destroyers to be the hardest/least forgiving of the chassis types. SPG's are turning out to be an inordinate amount of fun.

yeah I have a couple of tier fives, and three tier fours, four tank destroyers two british two American, and one American spg. I love the tank destroyers, my british AT2 is invulnerable to most enemy fire, hilarious just rolling ever so slowly into the midst of the enemy and laughing at them. the maerican T49 is a great tank destroyer too, though the complete opposite, incredibly fast and lightly armoured. the artillery is very hit and miss, pun intended. if your allies do not stop the enemy light tanks, or leave a gap in defences, somebody finds you and destroys you almost immediately, but if you are fairly well protected and can find a good position they are great fun.

Okay, so I've downloaded the game, watched the opening cinematic (stunning), and then got to character creation.

4th Ed. D&D style.

OMFG, no.

I immediately uninstalled that, lest the taint stain my computer.

Ugh.

That's either a really oddly disjointed come-on, or a pathetic attempt at condescension.

I'm not quite sure which...

Just started playing this yesterday, only a bit past the tutorial though, around level 5. Enjoying it quite a bit, combat doesn't seem like pure button mashing, need to pay attention to enemy aoes and whatnot and dodge out of the way. Voice acting is mostly decent with very little 'fantasy overacting' so far. Graphics are nice, environments are pretty. Story so far has been fairly run of the mill but decent. The Foundry system is excellent, played a couple of very good player-made missions including one that was very meta, the character plays a pen-and-paper RPG.
