The Battleforce Challenge!

So this weekend concluded Games Workshop: Shrewsbury's 3rd annual Battleforce Challenge.
The basic principle is you have a month to buy, build (convert), and paint a Battleforce and HQ
There were a lot of good entries this year, the army positions were as follows
1. Orks (548 points beat everyone else? What is this, I don't even)
2. Space Marines (played by me, totalled 890 points)
3. Necrons

It was a very good laugh and I played very well in each of my 3 games, annoyingly though I didn't get to play any of my friends...

1st Game - Space Marines vs Dark Eldar - Highlights
He gets to deploy and play first, I set up Scouts by a building that Kabalites were behind
Scout move them 6" towards the Kabalites
SEIZE THE INITIATIVE - Success!
Go a further 6" and Shotgun all the Kabalites, 8 die! Combat! Whoop their ***! Made up their points twice!
His Raider got lit up by my Razorback with Assault Cannon.
Lelith Hesperax butchered my Scouts then got hurt by the Assault Cannon.
All of his heavy weapons fail to do anything useful.
Reavers get slaughtered by Vanguard.
Feel no Pain helped him out a lot.

2nd Game - Space Marines vs different Dark Eldar - Highlights
I have first turn, scouts jump out (yet again) and destroy a Trueborn unit with Dark Lances, they make their points back thrice.
Baron Sathonyx and homies get cut down by disciplined bolter fire.
The Vanguard Veterans kill all the Kabalites.
The Razorwing goes ASPLODE from my Assault Cannon

3rd Game - Space Marines vs Orks (the guy who won) - Highlights
My power armour is suddenly paper, so many failed armour saves
Also, when did Power Klaws become so good?!?!
Vanguard slaughtered Nob Bikers
Orks kill everything, but he only had a Deff Dread (converted from a trukk!), 2 boyz, Nob, and Warboss.

How does one convert a Trukk to a Deff Dread?!

It looks SO epic.
It's sorta like something you'd see on Robot Wars. :D

it was an orky transformer! to the casual eye it looked like a trukk, but when there was serious business to attend to, it turned it a rampaging killing machine!

It would not die either! Gork (or possibly Mork!) was seriously protecting that thing.
Hurts when you roll two 1s on penetrating hits. :'(

Kudos to you to Tzeentch's Dark Agent for using scouts with shotguns, I don't know anyone else who does :)
