Hi all,

My partner and I have a problem with Feel no Pain rule at local club. Everyone understands that if a boltgun is fired at wych with FNP, the wych can take 4+ of FNP. But my partner and I think the wych cannot take 4+.
So can the wych with FNP take 4+ from a boltgun?

My thanks

A boltgun does not cause instant death, therefore the Wych may use FNP.

Cheers.

Really!? I’d better take wych squad with haemonculus now.

Yep, true story. I should know, I fought enough of them at the weekend.

It seems like you are under the incorrect assumption that something that ignores armour ignores FNP.

Reread the rulebook, only attacks that are AP1 or 2, or are double the defenders toughness ignore FNP.

The wych gets no armour save, but does get the fnp save.

Which is ironically better than it's armour...

Same as Wracks - 6 up armour, but start with FNP

Problem with giving a Wych a hemonculus is they lose their fleet.

So FNP exceptions are as follows:

AP1-2
Double Toughness
Instant Death wounds
Power Weapons
Saves that do not allow an armor save of any sort (such as failing a difficult terrain check).

It is that last one that confuses people. Weapons that do not allow an armor save sounds like anything with the correct AP, but it actually refers to a number of weapons (some of which are in the new DE codex) that say you don't get an armor save, or even any save at all!

Dangerous Terrain I think you mean. :D

True. It confuses when various people read it.
