Multi unit charge question.

If toy have a unit that has moved in close to 2 enemy units,and declared a multi target charge. I move my first model to the obviously closer target which it makes,and then attempt to move the designated miles to the other target which they come up short upon measuring. What is the effect?

The effect is that you successfully made the charge against the first unit, and must attempt to move every model capable of getting into that fight in base to base before attempting any other assaults. You don't declare secondary assaults, they are an option after successfully assaulting your primary target. You should still tell your opponent that you're goal is to multi-assault.
