Ork Bommers

Wassup!

Nope, I haven't managed to get my hands on the new models yet, but I have managed to photograph some Fighta-Bommers I made ages ago for an Apocolypse game that will now get a little more play time with the new rules in WD. Both need a bit of an update/repair, further orkification and possibly some minor tweaks to make them WYSIWYG, but I am super motivated to get to work on these guys (which will probably only last long enough to get them undercoated knowing me!)

So Lets get started shall we? First off, Da Burna-Bommer;

Exposed cockpit (" 'Oo needz a fancy Windaa? Much betta to get da wind in ur face and the burny smell up yer snoz!"), a ton of missiles under the wings (some on backwards), too many guns... how else can I add to the orkyness?

Instead of bombs, I made the burna-bomms as a pair of single use flamers that just dump all their squig fuel in one searing inferno. Bit different, but same end result.

Next, the... erm, well I think I'll be using it as a Blitza Bommer, but we shall see!

This guy is much bigger and has a bomb bay crammed full of bombs. And a grot trying to hit them with a hammer. And then there is the grot on the back platform firing a pistol at a tailing aircraft (while looking the other way. I actually do have a clear plastic canopy for this somewhere, but won't be attaching it until I have undercoated the model anyway.


So what do you all think? Both very much WIP. Any idea for further orkification? Any other comments, criticisms or general abuse? Please do leave a comment (I'm looking at you lurky lurkerson...)

Good news and bad news today;

Last night (the wednesday before release) I managed to get my hands on the new kit, open the box and have a look at the sprues.

Oh My Emperor Do I need to buy many of these kits!

Seriously, the pictures in WD and on the website do not do justice to what GW have produce in this box. Plenty of option, tons of great detail, and very high quality instruction booklet (muuuuuuch better than a lot of the fold out stuff we have had of late). Really looks like it will go together better than most airfix kits! Not to mention being a converters wet-dream. The other people in the burger shop were looking at me a bit funny when I was squeeling and jumpy over looking at the sprues. And that included the people who were with me from GW!)

Bad news that I didn't get to keep the box and that will not be my Bommer :(
It does however give me even more incentive to get one, even if I have to sell kindneys, limbs and eyeballs to raise the cash. Anyone fancy an extra Testicle?

So yeh... roll on Saturday!

Those look awesome. The second one is great, but on the first one I would suggest smaller wheels or making the body of the plane larger. The wheels look to big for it in my opinion.
