Ok so while they haven't been officially released (most of us have seen the rules)im aiming to fill up my Fast Attack slots with the new Fliers. The problem comes in deciding the combination.

Im thinking 1 Dakkajet and 2 Bommas but not sure which ones.

The Dakkajet with 3 Twin Linked Supashootas aren't bad when U consider the Aerial Assault and Strafing run rules. Its downside is of course that out of the 3 it relies most heavily on that Ork Ballistic Skill but is the most suited to dealing with opposing fliers with the Aerial Ace rule.

The Burna Bomma is interesting in that its got good strength weaponry that ignores cover but almost everything it has is one use only. (1 Burnabomb + upto 6 rockets). It does have 2 TL Supashootas and a TL big shoota to back it up though. Seems ideal for low save cover users and light tank cracking. Most expensive of the 3 if you tool it up.

The Blitza Bomma interests me because I love the Random aspect of its main weapon. Its drawback however Is that you have to get real close to your target to pull it off and even then it can all go wrong with a bad random effect roll. Of course like the Shokk attack gun though it could go phenominally well. Its got the least static shooting of the 3 (same as the Burna Bomma but no TL on the Big Shoota) and is the most expensive before upgrades. High Risk for High reward.

All 3 are around the 130 point mark after upgrades (though the Burna pushes 170 with a full loadout) so adding them onto my existing 1500 to make a 2k is easy im just not sure how to run them.

Any thoughts?

Well yeah I know that im just trying to work out a preferred loadout. Ive only got 3 slots and I think 1 of each is a little unfocussed.

I'm personally thinkin of gettin at least 2 bommers for my Speed Freakz Wazdakka list, but may end up with Dakkajets depending on points.

Read the rules earlier today in the WD. I am seriously investigating trading my half-completed Necrons for Orks and grabbing three fliers.

After looking at the rules, by far the most powerful option is the Dakkajet. With 9 twin linked shots per turn (double that on Waagh turn) and twin linked BS3, this thing can handily tear open light armor like Rhinos and will put the hurt on power armor. On Waagh turn, these things become terrifying engines of destruction against nearly everybody not encased in AV12 or greater.

If there is any failure in the Flier design for the Orks, it is the continuing difficulty with killing AV13/14 at range. However, nobody can continue arguing that they don't have options for dropping Rhinos, Razorbacks, and other tanks and monstrous creatures. The Dakkajet has handily solved that issue.

Sadly, the other options are less impressive. Blitza Bommas have a roughly 1/3 chance of killing you or rendering your flyer useless. The Burna Bomma handily annihilates nasty hordes--something that Orks have NEVER had significant problems dealing with given their excellent close combat.

Given the cost and benefit, the Dakkajet is the best choice for all scenarios that you could want either of the other jets for.

I still like the idea of the Fighters escorting in the Bombers so im still gonna take at least 1 but I do see your point.

I think 2 Dakkajets (all the upgrades) and 1 Burna Bomma (+6 rockets) is my choice. Not bad for 360 points. I guess I've got an 1850 lust now. Kills Kans for 2k! Lol

If you must take a bomma, the burna seems the safer bet from a performance standpoint. And it isn't likely to kill itself as soon s it does is signature maneuver.
