I'm looking to buy an airbrush but I do not know which to buy siphon feed or gravity feed, I plan on buying a full kit with the compressor. I would greatly appreciate your input

I have and use both. I prefer my gravity feed for detail work and when I'm working with small amounts. Its quite a bit easier to clean than my siphon feed. I tend to use my siphon feed when I'm base coating, large models or doing quite a few of them at the same time. It really depends on what you want to use it for and your budget.

thanks that helps a lot! I'm going to use the air brush for mostly base coats.

I've used both. I find the siphon feed to be pretty finicky in terms of the paint consistency, air pressure, etc., in addition to the cleaning thing that Cherub referred to. I now use a gravity feed exclusively. My major use is to base coat vehicles (including my WWII tank models) and then to camouflage and add special effects like smoke streaks.

Look no further, the perfect starter kit: http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/COMPLETE-AIRBRUSH-KIT-AIRBRUSH-COMPRESSOR-WITH-TANK (http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/COMPLETE-AIRBRUSH-KIT-AIRBRUSH-COMPRESSOR-WITH-TANK-/350446067151?pt=UK_Crafts_DrawingSupplies_EH&hash=item5198369dcf)

I say this in every airbrush thread; do NOT buy a compressor without air tank and moisture trap. Compressors will last you you much longer than any airbrush so it's a small investment.

For sure, I bought that kit about 4-5 years ago, but with just the suction feed airbrush. The compressor's still purring like a kitten and will probably last me a few decades and only now I've decided to upgrade to a higher quality airbrush. Now they sell those kits with both grav. feed ànd suction feed airbrushes so the deal got even better. ;)

I have that same compressor and the thing is a beast, though I need to replace the valve and gauge on it cause it doesn't work for some reason.

I use my airbrush for a lot of reasons, though I primarily use it for basecoating, and personally my brush is gravity fed. It has served me very well and coatings go on evenly and not overly thickly like a spray can does, so they are awesome in my humble opinion.

My brush is a badger patriot arrow and it has served me very well so far, I am very pleased. The spray area isn't overly big and easy to control, and it just works like a charm and is easy to clean as long as you have the tools.

I will say this, know how to clean the bloody thing, it will make your life a lot easier, and be careful with the needle so you dont bend it, or its borked. Needles are expensive by my understanding, though they are easy to install once you get a new one.
