On Monday Morning Australian Time, 14 Nov 2012, I successfully purchased the following Army on Ebay:

Your unique chance to be the envy of all your gaming mates. There are models in this deal
that you will never find anywhere else. I was one of the lucky few to get them before they where gone.

All you need is to buy a pre-heresy dread and land rider from FW and you will have it all.

This army includes:

1 - Emperor
1 - Valdor Cpt. of the Custodes
30 - Custodes
10 - Custodes Terminators
10 - Custodes Jet Bikes (ULTRA RARE)
1 - Amendera Kandell Cpt. of the Sisters
20 - Sister of Silence

I have invested a ton on this army, but I do not have time nor to assemble or paint it. So my loss your gain.
Note: These are not official GW models, the scale is the same as the 40K models, exactly the same size.
But these where custom made models from fans. This is why they where done in limited runs, some times only 100 figs
for tournament sponsorship, like Kandell that was given to a German 40K tournament to the attendees.

If you win you will get:
Note all models are new, in original packaging, un assembled, never seen paint or glue.

The Bidding was really nasty towards the end, but the previous day I put a bid ofUSU$1,700.00 and the bidding thankfully only went upto US$985.00, which is not too bad for 73 vary rare models.

My question is this. Where can I find some decent rules and Army list for custodes and Sisters of Silence, that is/are not too powerful, not too expensive, and Avoid using either Grey Knights or Sisters of Battle Army Codexes.

I have seen a Custodes Apocalypse Data Sheet, but at a maximum of 10 miniatures and 150 points each it would be too expensive to run as a full army. I already have 5 of the old Custodes from a previous ebay purchase, and have bought the Scribor miniatures SF Roman Miniatures incl standard and Captain. With 66 Custodes, the Emperor, and 21 Sisters of silence, I would like to field them all one day, even for a local Apoc Game.

Does anyone know where to find a decent allround list/minidex?

Any help will be appreciated.

SHE'S FROM THE FUTURE!!

Agree with GK for Arbites. Its the logical choice, they are after all elite "marines"

Sisters of Silence are a more tricky one. They were wiped out in defence of the emperors palace during the Heresy so theres no modern equivilent. I can see the parellels to sisters (they're women :P) but they are very different in there physic shut down methods....

Going to sound stupid but why not use the Sisters as Nids? You get the shadow in the warp effect of screwing with physic powers. The bigger MC's could be used as vehicles/dreadnought type things?

that's not a bad idea. Use warriors n' maybe genestealers.

He was looking for a non over powered list, not a soft one. If given a choice I would think GKs fit the fluff for theses much better

Thanks for The Suggestion guys & gals, by the way I am a Gal (She).

I do not like GK's The Emperor's Personal Body Guard, do not have to be Psykers at all. In fact I want to avoid using the over powered GK psychic rules.

I had thought of increase their basic stats to the following:
WS - 5, BS - 4, Str - 4, Tgh - 4, W - 2, I - 5, A - 2, LD - 10, SV 2+/ 4++. Their 2 handed weapon should give the bearer +2 str, and they should have an aegis to ignore the effects of psychic attacks on a 4+.

Generally they do not have special or heavy weapon upgrades, but I could have a special squad, that specializes in using the heavier equipment such as Heavy Flamers, Melta Guns, Flamers, etc. The terminators could have a specialist weapons trooper in every squad, and 2 if they number 10 models. The number of specialist vehicles transports, and tanks should be limited to the best of the best equipment. Remember these are the Emperor's Bodyguard. They get Landraiders, Venerable Dreadnoughts, Jet BIkes, and most likely Rhino APC's (although Chimeras are overall a better vehicle they do not suit the army) Every model should have Teleport Homers, and can request to use Drop Pods, and Storm Ravens when needed in smaller games. Cestus Assault Rams, and Thunder Hawk Gunships could be used in Larger Games (Apocalypse level games).

I was looking at including Elite choices in the list such as Adeptus Mechanicus Tech Priests and Apothacaries (they should have some within their organisation). These would be in addition to the Dreadnoughts and Terminators.

Their Fast attack options should be Jet Bikes, and any unit mounted in a Storm Raven, and possibly Land Speeders, which I think should be something used to support the jet bikes as a unit upgrade if they reach a certain size. I think that bikes and bikes with support side cars are not something they would generally use. The Imperial Fists would be used to support them in these circumstances.

The Heavy Support should be tried and tested ancient heavy Tanks such as the Landraider, and some of the older variants of the Landraider design. The Prometheus, the Helios, the Ares for examples. They would have Support Dreadnought (2 weapons - no CCW), but tank designs such as the Leman Russ, the Vindicator, the Whirlwind, are not something they would use a lot in their role. Adeptus Mechanicus might have special detachments assigned to support the Custodes, so Thunder Fire Cannons might be an option, but they should be Mechanicus personal running the cannon.

Troops should be the stock standard Custodes in Artificer Armour with Custode Halberds (built in storm bolter), Grenades, force field generator, teleport homer, 1 to 2 unit specialist weapons upgrades, a Squad leader upgrade, and number between 5 - 10 per squad.

The HQ's can include Valdor, and the standard - Company Captain profile, weapon and euipment should be Artificer Armour with Force Field, stsndar Custodes halberd and option to upgrade to Terminator Armour. Other upgrades should be rarer Items that you would pay a decent price for. I.E. Vortex Grenade (1 max), Digital Weapons, Storm Shield, etc.

The HQ unit could have a personal Body Guard of 4-9 Elite Praetorians that have the option to take Storm Shields, and replace their Halberd with a 1 handed version of the Halberd (+1 iniative instead of +2 strength), where the Storm Bolter is incorporated into the armour of the Forearm or the Storm Shield itself and you could upgrade the Storm Bolter to a Flamer. This unit can take a Company Banner. The Units basic stats would have 1 more attack than normal, and they can take any vehicle from those available as a personal transport.

If you want to include Librarians, then use them as an Elite Choice Upgrade that uses the Independant Character rule, but he can not take a bodyguard unit. A unit limit of 0-2 would be recommended in this case.

The sisters of silence could be a new force recruited from the Sisters of Battle who were found to be Psychic Nulls, and trained by the Assassins order to assist them against psykers. They can have the basic weapons upgrades you get for sisters of battle, however, they have a WS and BS of 5 to account for the Assassin orders training, and have bolter with hellfire rounds, bolt pistol, and CCW. They should be taken as an Elite choice, and only have Rhinos or Razorbacks as a unit transport. Special Weapons - Melta Guns, Flamers, Plasma Guns 1 if squad is 5 strong, 2 if they number 10. A special character can be taken to allow them to be troop choices. Some USRs for them could be stubborn, and feel no pain, preferred enemy (Psykers)

This is about the best I can think of to account for the sisters of silence, and it might meld into the armies design, and since it is an option, you do not have to take them at all.

Custodes, should get an ability to ignore the Psychic Null abilities, except for the Librarians, and the Custodes should have a few USRs as standard. Probably Counter Atack, And they shall know No Fear, with the ability to lose or pass the leadership test when they want to as long as the Army Standard is still flying, Stubborn, and either Furious Charge or Preffered enemy.

The Jet Bikes should also get Skilled rider USR.

The points cost should be about expensive a Grey Knight trooper, maybe a little more, and I suggest that the Company Captain be immune to Instant Death.

How does this sound?

Apologies. I gues your name being deamonette should of lead me to the fact you are female.it sounds like you have a good idea of what is proper to these units, and I would have to assume inside a friendly gaming group there should be no issue using them. I'm curious.where is the fluff on these units.sounds like a interesting one.also, are there any pictures available.id dig seeing them

Chaeck this link for the Custodes out.

http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Adeptus_Custodes

It has given me an idea to create Grav Rhino similar to the pictures at the bottom of the linked page. They would make for an exciting addition to the batlefield and their tactics overall.

Explaining why Adeptus formerly Legio Custodes are out on a mission outside of the Imperial Palace, and outside of the Sol Solar System whould be more difficult to explain.

I will have a look for more info on the Custodes and the Sisters of Silence, however the Sisters traditionally had a number of squad types depending upon their role as either trackers, hunters, Fire Support, or Assault/Kill squad, etc. Most had names based upon animal totems closest to that which suited their role.

The Horus Heresy Collectable Card Game and the Horus Heresy Novels have a lot more on their background as well as some of the art/ Fluff books of the Horus Heresy GW has released.

I dunno, the Custodes are described as better than marines but lack the freedom of will and documented cases of badassery. It's hard to figure out what they should be on the table since they haven't been around since 1st ed. and I'm unfamiliar with any moment that shows how they should work. As to why they would be outside of Sol most people dodge this by giving their Custodes red accents, which moves them historically to the Great Crusade.
I'm wondering if you could post some pics though. I curious what the models look like.

The Custodes only belong in Great Crusade/Horus Heresy era games (in the 41st millenium they don't wear armour, and don't leave Terra!). But for HH games they are great.

The Tempus Fugitives rules make a lot of sense for them : http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/pdf/40k/AotE%20Expansion.pdf

They're not cheap though! Each Custodes is 50pts...

what, don't wear armor? How are they supposed to protect the emperor...

So what custodes models are these? Scibor or otherwise? I don't recall any other custodes-type models being released, so I'm very interested to know!

I hope these images come out on my reply. This is the army I bought. I also have 4 more of the custodes shown above, as well as 10 of the Scribor Miniatures SF Romans - Standard, Captain, and 2 squads of 4 Legionaries halberd and shield.

I was thinking that they were sent on a special mission, extra special mission, something sanctioned by Valdor and the almost never seen Malcador. Perhaps it has something to do with the missing Necron C'Tan who have not been broken into shards yet, or maybe it is part of a trap to capture or kill Abaddon, once and for all. Maybe they are looking for a group of Sensei (yes the Emperor's lost children born of his loins).

It does not matter, the army list will not be legal, so I will have to use it in friendly games at my local gaming club, and only once my opponent has approved the list and found it to be not OP for the points value, and so the rules are not too difficult to contend with.

I could not open the link mentioned in the reply at the top of the page for the Tempus Fugitives rule.

I have not received the miniatures which have never been put together, undercoated, or painted. They should be sent out today or tomorrow from the USA.

I could not open the link mentioned in the reply at the top of the page for the Tempus Fugitives rule.I'm pretty sure the downloads are members-only, so go here and sign-up (http://www.tempusfugitives.co.uk/) if you want to see! However, their current Custodes rules are focused more around them as allies, rather than an independent army.

You could always use Dark Angels rules if you just want to get them down on the board. Belisha, termies, captain, vets for the Cudtodes in Power armour, Marines/scouts for the sisters, jet bikes are just bikers (and you can take speeders with them).

Not the best rules, but if it just a case of "I need to get these guys on the table!" they are good enough.

Thanks, that sounds like a good idea. Being a Chaos player for the most part, it means I can paint and use them as fallen Dark Angels. This also gives me a good excuse to paint my Cypher.
