Tried looking through the old forum posts but couldn't find anything that addressed this. In the codex it states that you roll a D6 for the number of attacks on a Daemon Weapon (or 2D6 in the case of a Khorne Daemon Weapon), but if you roll a 1, you take a wound with no armor saves allowed.

So that says "armor saves" specifically. To me that means Invulnerable Saves still apply. Am I interpreting that correctly?

Personally I prefer the idea of 2 Lightning Claws but just curious in case I ever use a Daemon weapon.

Yeah, Inv. Saves can still be used, so you've got a 1/3 (or 1/2 for Tzeentch) chance of not stabbing yourself!

To back this up, you'll see this text a lot where wounds are caused "with no armor saves allowed," and all of those instances do allow for invulnerable saves. A good example a lot of new players miss is dangerous terrain tests.
