Thinking of making VFB Ig Assault gun

hi everyone, my idea was to mount a medusa siege cannon on a leman russ demolisher hull in a casemate, kinda like an ISU-152 and keep the front hull mounted hb and i was also thinking of just using the leman russ demolisher's front/side/rear armor and with Bs 3, with LB special rule and no option to shoot bastion breacher shells, ii just need help with deciding how much in costs? i was thinking at least 360pts with EA on.

It's the same round shot from the Demolisher as from the Medusa (str10 ap2). The difference is one is 24" and the other is 36". That line of thinking 195 would be the right price compared to the Leman Russes.

The differences are you pay 30pt's less for 12 more inches of range on a weaker vehicle. With that line of thought 12 inches with out bastion breaching shells would cost 30 more points.

thanks for the refresher, i was thinking of making a medusa assault gun for apoc battles and really big cities of death fights and i don't want the assault gun to be overpowered and too cheap for it's overall effectiveness. but the medusa siege cannon is going to be the main weapon with a hull mounted heavy bolter and option to take extra armor and pintle mounted Hs/Sb and nothing more with standard Lr wargear standard at about 250pts for 1 assault gun.:D

I'm not so sure about the 195pt cost. The LR Demolisher (stock) costs 165. The main gun on the Demolisher is turret mounted, (that's 360 degree vision for those of you playing the home game) where as this model, to my understanding, be limited with a 90 degree arc. True it would gain 12" but it would be forced to either sit towards the back or the flank, protecting it's rear armour in either case, where as the LR Demolisher can be in the front line, direct center of the board and simply turn it's turret to the left or right, while still only showing side armour 13 at the worst, probably front armour 14. If this model were to try to do the same thing, it would show it's rear armour 11 in a heart beat and thus be destroyed must easier.

You could easily use the rules/points for that model, which is in the Imperial Armour 1 update Aug28 version, which costs 140pts per model. It comes with a hull mounted demolisher cannon, searchlight, smoke launchers, BS3, AV14/13/11, it's a tank (it doesn't have the lumbering behemoth rule though...) and you can get a few standard IG vehicle upgrades (dozer blade, couple of weapons, hunter-missing-missle, nobody uses netting, Extra Point Sink Armour) Yeah, in fact, use that.

Thanks, my custom assault gun(any rules for making custom vehicles? ) story was the vostroyan's requested tech priest's mount a medusa siege cannon on a leman russ demolisher hull to help in the destruction of enemy hard points which were put in places were demolishers would be taken out while turning their turrets toward the enemies defensive anti-tank lines but they were made in very small numbers( 3 only were made) but it's profile would be

Wargear: Smokelaunchers,searchlights hull mounted heavy bolter,hull mounted in casemate like a ISU-152 medusa siege cannon

With the same upgrades as a Lrand the option to take BBS at same prices as a standard medusa, but no LB rule or option to take sponsons

but basically it would be a imperial Isu-152 just on a Lr hull(not a T-34) with a medusa siege cannon replacing the 152mm cannon, i think it would look sweet:D
