Necron: Particle Shredder + Targeting Relay?

Forgive me if this has been previously discussed, but I could not find a ruling on quick search.
This could technically go for the Dispersed Beam of the Heat Ray as well: because the wording of Targeting Relay refers to a 'target' unit, does this mean if a secondary unit is also hit, it would *not* generate TL attacks against it in the same shooting phase?

In the case of the shredder, this is taken to the nth by asking: If it scatters of the original target, but does score hit(s) against a different target, are the subject to the targeting relay rules?

Correct. When the Stalker fires its weapon, it aims at a unit. It would be the one under the center of the blast template (if using the particle shredder). It CAN hit other units, but you'll only get the TL if you hit the unit you shot at. This prevents it from becoming totally broken.

To sum up, it can only shoot at one target unit and if it scores a hit against it any other shots at that unit are TL for the remainder of the shooting phase. If you hit another unit but not the target unit, the targeting relay rule doesn't come into play.

Because of the wording of the Targeting Relay rule ("If a Triarch Stalker shoots at an enemy unit and manages at least one hit..."), I agree with what Lord said. And this is why you probably won't see many Stalkers with the Particle Shredder.
