Emperor vs Chaos God

Though the Emperor is the most powerful psyker in the imperium, but I doubt if he is powerful enough to face any single chaos god and prevail?

Do you mean a chaos god, one of the big four, or all of them?

I'll offer you this little bit. The chaos gods get all their powers, possibly their very existence to the beleive/worship of their followers. Now think for a bit how many people in the entire Imperium believe the Emperor to be a god. Billions. Add to this however the Emperor came into being. That is another thread altogether. And suppose just a bit more that the Emperor leaves his mortal shell completely, going into the warp, with untold billions giving him power.

Why would they kill the Emperor? His Imperium is already basically consecrated to them. His armies might as well be consecrated to Khorne (who, let's be honest, isn't fussy about where the skulls come from, as technically any kill in battle is an act of worship to Khorne). The Administratum and Inquisition have layer upon layer of plans and gambits (which keeps Tzeentch happy). Large human populations lead to a much wider spread of disease than small ones - Nurgle has nothing to gain from the fall of the Imperium. And as for Slaanesh, well, every planet seems to have a corrupt governor, let alone those members of the Imperium who take pleasure from inflicting pain on others (the Ecclesiarchy, the Arbitrators, the Inquisition, etc...)

The Imperium is the perfect construct for Chaos to grow in.

Anyway, how could a Chaos god fight the Emperor? That's like asking whimsy to fight Thursday. Concepts come into conflict through humans.

Sorry, just had a mental image of The Emperor pistol whipping Nurgle. Anyway seeing this thread got me thinking, which of the chaos gods is the most powerful? I only ask because the Emperor would definitely throw down on the baddest first just too mark the card of the remaining gods.
Personally I think Khorne would be the Emperors choice as he gets all full on for a fight and I figure that's how the big guy rolls, Tzeentch would be too busy being random to concentrate on a fight and Slaneshh would be doing unspeakable things in a corner, probably too itself and as for Nurgle, well would you really wanna fight a collosal turd?
