Okay, so I was trying to figure out how to paint the Space Hulk Termies the other day (just red seemed kind of boring, and I'm already painting an all red army for my friend) when the idea struck me: paint them as a Deathwatch Kill Team. After all, the DW is the fighting arm of the Ordo Xenos, and Space Hulk is pretty much about fighting xenomorphs. So, apart from the incredible coincidence that the entire team is composed of former Blood Angels, is this fluffy? Do Deathwatch use Terminator armour?

Sounds fluffy and a fun conversion. As to whether or not DW have TDA ... I'm sure they do, somewhere.

Death Watch do have Terminator armour. If the guy who gets drafted has Terminator armour it goes with him. In one of the novels I think there was a chaplain who wore it. (Do not have the book at work to confirm, sorry)

It wasn't a Chaplain but there was a guy in Terminator Armor.

Sorry, yep, he wasn't a chaplain. He was brother Neleus of the White Consuls.

go for it, anythings more interesting to look at than copying exactly how the GW website ones look, like most others have been doing.

Cool, thanks for confirming the info. One other question: what do I do with the librarian? Deathwatch paint their armour black, but Librarians are always supposed to have blue armour. Does one cancel out the other, or should I just mix 'em up?
Are you going to do the special Shoulder pads for Deathwatch termies? It would take some work, but it would be very cool...
As far as the Libby goes I would say that Deathwatch overrules Libraiain blue... But maybe keep a piece of it blue to remined his squadmates of his spoon bending abilities.

Thats tough, your supposed to leave one shoulder pad the same as the chapter they are recruited from and the other shoulder pad is the Death Watch one...........maybe leave the torso, upper arms and upper legs blue?
I think it would look cool if nothing else.

I'd paint the Librarian black with whichever knee pad has the psyker symbol painted blue.

I'm looking at the libby model right now, and I'm thinking:
Right shoulder pad: Blue, as it would be even if he was not deathwatch
Psychic hood: Blue
Kneepad: Blue, if it will look cool with the rest of the model
I'm not going to put on DW shoulder pads; if they weren't limited edition super-special-awesome models I'd do it, but I don't feel like carving up these ones. The Crux Terminatus has a skull on it, so it'll work for me :)

I read a BL book a while back involving a DW kill team with a Terminator armor-wearing member. And just FYI, TDA means Tactical Dreadnought Armor, another term for Terminator armor
