I've finally sat down to make my objective markers.

as a base I bought three 60mm Ironhalo bases, and have currently modelled the first one. thought i'd see what you guys think of them and any suggestions

Firstly this is "soldiers in need of assistance"

as you can see, an injured soldier and his comrade keeping covering fire.

my next one will double up as a "sacred ground" strategem marker for Cities of Death
here is the general idea

a recently deceased soldier alongside a skeleton soldier - I havent decided whether he will be from a long gone battle, or recently killed by some alien/viral weaponry (represented by a glowing green skeleton)

and my final one (so far) will be a fuel dump type strategem/objective on this base (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_dKzBWK8cqBI/SrfJawmgpQI/AAAAAAAAAa8/aUmOlTNvQ2g/s400/blog4+060.jpg)

what do you think? i'll post up pics when they're finished (this week as I need them for a tourney saturday)

I really like the first one. And the second one could be good. Have the skeleton being eaten away or something.

some of you may have seen my other thread (http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?t=2181) showing the skeleton guardsman,

but here is the "guardsmen in need of assistance" objective marker painted up

i still need to add some blood effects, and maybe some "trench clutter" - grenades - a bucket maybe etc.

but its good enough for the tourney this weekend

now to finish off that skeleton :D

Dumb question... I keep saying the arm in a sling and the kneeling guardsman, but can never seem to find the parts (even in a box of Cadian plastics). Am I missing something?

I only ask, because I have been working on some markers myself, and those pieces allow for much more dynamic objectives.

The arm in the sling comes from the Cadian Command squad sprues. You can also get a set of kneeling legs from those sprues, but you can get plenty of kneeling cadian legs from the heavy weapon squad box.

The kneeling pose is from the heavy weapons team, and the bandaged arm is from the cadian command platoon set.

I would recommend buying one of the command platoons - it has a wide variety of very useful bits.
