First of all, a litlte text:

Hi had a 5 minute chat with EDGAR SKOMOROWSKI, who sculpted most of the chaos dwarf range. He said that he has just finished making the new Chaos Dwarf Bull Centaurs and that the K'daai Destroyer is being sculpted as we speak.

Once he had finished them he was moving onto the new "Battle for the Fire Pass" campaign book.

I don't even collect Chaos Dorfs and I'll be getting a K'daii Destroyer.

Battle for Fire Pass means Empire vs (probably) Orcs, so more Empire, yay!

A campaign book of battle for the Fire Pass?? So do we gets stats and a model for Sigmar? Cos that would rock! Stats and figures for the other characters there (read the novel Heldenhammer which ends with this great battle) would also be very cool, such as King Kurgan Ironbeard and Alaric the Mad.

One assumes it is one of the later battles, as there have been several. Otherwise we wouldn't have most of the toys we know and love.:)

Mmm true. a shame though, just as FW keep doing 30k stuff, some Age of Legends figures and such would be nice to see from WF, maybe in future once they're more established.

In fact SunTzu on Warseer posted this yesterday:

I hear the next WF book (after Monstrous Arcanum, I mean) will be themed around one of the Battles for Blackfire Pass... Empire and Dwarfs vs. Greenskins. No Sigmar, one of the later battles (I actually heard third, but then it featured in this month's White Dwarf - not sure whether that's convergence or contradiction).
Third Battle would make sense, as it involves Karl Franz.

The third Battle for Black Fire Pass is indeed in the new WD. It first came up in one of the old Empire army books with a proper story about KF smooshing orcs, so it's been around for a while.

Hrmmm... I'll reserve final judgment for when I see the figures in person , or at least better pictures... but I'm really not liking the K'daai fireborn...

Best take-away from these images? Scale. I would never have guessed that the Skaven wolf-rats were so large and while I knew the orc idol thing was big.. I didn't realize it was quite that large.

Eh, I'm probably a rarity but I actually do NOT want to see Age of Legends miniatures... I rather like the imagery that I have in my head and it would frustrate me if I sat my army down on the table and on the other side was somebody playing High Elves who felt the need to carve up a fig of Aenarion to make their no-name weakling prince...

I agree actually, I don't even want to read the Age of Legends books (except Neferata, I'll make an exception for her) let alone see them on the battlefield, for much the same reason I don't want to see Primarchs on the field EVER.

Some more news:

So I had a good look at the Black Fire Pass mock up (as it was, not much yet).

There was (mixed in with the WH online art) some brand new are including some empire knights, a jade wizard, some big orcs, a sea troll and... a Dwarf airship.

Spoke to the scuplters and airship is definately on the cards.

Keith mentioned that each sculpter is working on a different race - one for dwarfs, one for empire, one for orcs - to give consistency.

Exciting times!!!

PS Magma dragon looked badass and the new book is sweeeeet.

One imaged Edgar Skomorowski will be doing Empire, which means it shall all be fantastic. Mind you even if isn't it will all be fantastic.:rolleyes:
