I'm building a knight titan as an Easter modelling/painting project.

It will probably be used as a monolith in my 'one day' necromechanicus army (it's the only land based unit big enough ;)).

Based on bits I have I think the monolith is about 6 inches square and approx 8 inches high with the eternity gateway a shade under 2" wide.

Can anyone who has the actual model confirm, google is giving me contradictory info?

Early stage WIP shot below, objective is a cross between mini-warhound and a mini-warlord at roughly the right scale so I can use it in a normal game.

the legs are giving me the most hassle at the moment :(

Thanks muchly

About 8" tall and 7" wide.

The door is about 2" tall and a bit less than 2" wide...maybe 1.5-1.75"

He's up on his feet, sort of.

Lots of bulking up of the legs to do and there will eventually be a banner between the legs too.

Still need to figure out how to do the other arm which is going to be some sort of mechanicum portal gun to represent the gateway. Physical represntation on the base will also be addressed somehow.

Very cool gun!

This is one massive beast... I've added it to my Knight Titan thread http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.php?showtopic=248882

More progress, about 80% complete now excluding the base Sopme more patching, the portal gun and some extra detail to go.

Thats awesome

That is the only titan-scale model that isn't forgeworld that I have seen posted on the web that doesn't look like a series of loo-rolls stuck to a tissuebox

Looks great!

I'd fill in the vision slits on his shin guards?

That actually looks about the size of a warhound...

You've not looked that hard then.

Back on-topic, this is a nice little conversion; love the weapon-head.

Not too sure about the view-slits in the shin armour; makes it too obvious that they're not supposed to be shin-guards. It is worth plasticarding over them?

Y'know I really hate the direction GW's titan designs have gone over the years and I really shouldn't like this, but damned if I don't think it's adorable. I really like it and hope you keep us updated. Btw, what kind of engine bit are you going to use?

Almost there now, jusy a little more detailing to go:

Added the waist banner and a detachable wall to the base for LOS blocking so that I can hide a squad behind it (as you can with the monolith)

Also a raid on my bitz box yuielded up quite a lot of sevo skull parts for my first necromechanicus scarab unit:
The marine and xenos versions may not be fluff-accurate but my evolving background for this army is a mechanicus cult that has unearthed necron technology and been ex-communicated for inventing new designs contrary to mechanicum rules, not fully dark mechanicus and still loyal to the imperium but outcasts.

this is one sweet conversion. Awesome Sauce.

Also fun use of 'stand ins' for a rules set.

Too cool!
What did you use for the ankles? That and the long support beams in the legs? I think that I can place the bits for everything but those.

The only thing that I can add would be to add a (I think the proper term is) transim? to the main cannon so it can move up and down. That and a bit more detailing to the inside torso, a hatch and some rivets to integrate it into the design.

Both from bastion kit, legs for the lascannon and the arch thing that goes into the communication array.

Found some stompa pistons to add the cannons and will be detailing the remaining surfaces and covering over some of the rougher GS soon

absolutely loving it! i absolutely love the fact that while the pieces are individually identifiable when you view the model as whole you don't find yourself thinking it looks like an amalgamation of pieces- it looks like a model! very well done sir, if i was wearing a hat i would tip it to you!
