A friend sent this to me this morning. I haven't decided if it's completely authentic or not, but it looks pretty real.

You know how you can tell its real? The conspicuous absence of women anywhere near the person wearing it.

Three posibilities:
A) It's fake
B) that dude has really long arms and legs
C) he's got inserts in the legs and arms

this is in General too. And Gendo, the breastplate isn't resting on his shoulders and the arm holes are hidden by the pauldrons. Also, hug your kid before we explode.

Yes, it appears to be anatomically correct. The bulk just makes it difficult to tell where his joints are precisely.

Well. That's impressive...
I wonder how much that thing weights. Even if it's just plastic, that's gotta add up...

It looks fake to me. The shadows don't look right and where the feet meet the ground doesn't look right.
Also taking it into photoshop it looks like all around the grey knight has been "repaired". He did a nice job putting the face in and hiding the edges with shadow though, but when you look at the shadow that his head cast is where it really falls apart.

There is only one way to counter that - who wants to dress like a demon? a bit nurgle pus here, a demonette claw there... Or go classy: chaos spawn! Gain a lot of weight and limps with a sexy insect head to boot! All the cool folks are doing it!

No, the angle of the shadow off the head is correct. Check the angle of the shadow from the corner of the right pauldron onto his forearm, or from the storm bolter onto the robes. They're all the same. The "shadows" you point out in your zoomed picture seem to just be color variations on the armor. The armor isn't a uniform grey, and it just happens to be a bit darker which looks kinda like shadows but isn't.
Besides, this isn't the only picture of his stuff:

I didn't say the angle of the shadow was the problem. I didn't really say what I thought was wrong with it, my bad. It's that it looks like it was painted in. It looks to "perfect" like he took the picture of his head then filled it in black, then made it a transparency. The edge just looks to sharp for me to think it's a real shadow.
I've looked at his other pics and I'm still not convinced. Maybe I'm wrong which would be awesome but it just looks fake to me. But I will say that the halberd does look real.

I love how people start with the assumption it's fake... I saw several others good SM cosplays (which were undoubtedly real) and this one does not seem to be some photoshop mumbo-jumbo.

Saw this pic on Kontraband, just had to laugh as it's true even though the person who made it doesn't realize it, GKs have no interest in women, I guess SMs in general dont. Now that I think about it the only time a SM of any sort would fraternise with women would be before they are selected to become Spheeze Mehreenez.

Oh god, I just had a vision of the future! With all the simpsons, family guy etc porn out there if 40k became mainstream I wouldn't be surprised to see a live action 40k porno. Daemonettes charging a long Grey Knight ripping his armour off so they can get to the "meat". I guess the daemonettes would have to be transvestites though.... I could hear my bone break right now as the fantasy took a turn for the worse and died a slow and agonising death...

When dealing with a Speeze Mehreenez "gene seed" only one brand is strong enough to protect you...

After seeing this guys costume would it be plausible to see a live action 40k movie? I take it the biggest problem would be moving around in the thing?
I would really like to see the Horus Heresy in movie form, you dont even need tall actors as if you can make Frodo small and the hairy guy in Harry Potter big I'm sure you can portray SMs correctly.

I'm sure someone here's seen the Halo live action trailers, even though the actual movie has been put on indefinite hold for the time being.
