Forge World Open Day Questions

I am lucky enough to live a quick hop up the motorway from Warhammer World, so I don't really have an excuse to not go to the FW Open Day this Sunday (No joke!)

Hopwever, I'm very much aware that the gaming community at large isn't so lucky. From experience, it only takes me about an hour to get round and photogrpah most of the wonderful stuff on display and that leaves me with PLENTY of time to chat to the designers, sculpters, painters and authoers of the FW stable. Only problem is I have been enough times now (along with Games Day) that I run out of questions pretty quickly.

Being a firendly BoLS Roving Reporter, I throw the gauntlet down to you fine folk; what is it you want to ask the fine folks of the faux Mechanicum? What is that burning question you have always wanted to ask Will Hayes about scultping eldar? What would you ask of Mark Bedford or Neil Cook or any of the other luminaries?



You have a little over 24 hours to post your questions. I will endevour to get them all answered, as well as take pics of anything and everything I can point my camera at! Requests for pics will also be taken.

Also, I might have to pick up a contemptor for myself. Always need more Dreadnoughts... 6 just isn't enough!

i had been planning to go but unfortunately wedding planning has taken over and i am not sure my wife-to-be would be that happy if i abandoned her to go look at the pretty models (for some unfathomable reason she doesn't share my enthusiasm!) i would be interested in knowing the general future of Warhammer Forge. are they intending to do singular releases, or are they planning on doing more races (or maybe sub-races e.g Cult of Ulric for empire)?

Are Mk 8 armour variants on the way?
Are we getting assault variants of the new Terminator pattern?
Will we be getting chapter specific Contemptors? (cough) Iron Hands.
Are some Minotaur chapter upgrades on the cards like diferent helmets, plumes etc.

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

I would ask about the storm Eagle. What I would really like to know is it a variant of the roumoured storm Hawk?

Do they plan on expending their powders? or offering more int he way of hobby supplies?

Will the termies be expanded on- other heavy weapons, assault terminators?
What happened to Bran Redmaw? (the sculpt has been in their cabinets at open days for ages, but no murmuers of when it will be avaialble).
What Chapter specific stuff is planned for the future
Whats the deal with the Storm Hawk?

Other 40k stuff
Based on the limited edition models- are there likely to be Arbites/enforcer models released soon?
Chaos- with the decimator Im assuming that chaos are the next adversary in IA12; how well does it fit with/reflect the 40k main chaos release we are expecting.
Guard- are the Elysians/Krieg/Tallarn likely to get revisited in the future?
Similarly will Corsairs/Grots/ FW niche army specific stuff get revisited and supported in the future?
What can we expect with IA12- what kind of world will it be on (cityfight/iceworld/forgeworld/desert world etc).

Fantasy
Relation between the WHForge Demigryph and the new fantasy ones (they look similar but the production start date must ahve been similar).

General
Whats the biggest selling models/lines? By how much?
My friend is a proof reader, with degrees in english and postgrad qualifications and gw hobby love. IA11 was riddles with mistakes. Can I hook you two up?

I'd really love to know if they're planning on creating new terrain in the future. Especially 40k related and particularily city fight related, just like they used sell a couple of years ago. I really loved those city ruins a lot, and they looked so much better than the modular kits that GW is selling at the moment.

Fairly sure they said on their Facebook page no plans for SG support in the foreseeable future. It was in relation to Epic and AI but I believe they made it clear it was for all the Specialist Games.:(

Can they hint at the inclusion of FW products into the rumored 6th edition for regular gameplay?

What direction has Tau technology taken them after severe clashes with Tyranids, Chaos, and the lesser knowns? Where are the Kroot in all this?
How have the Tyranids changed since the earliest fleets... Are there any trackable phases of their evolution?

Is there a chaos equivalent to the Caetus Ram?

Yes to the Necrons. Most definitely yes in the biggest possible way. Will Hayes is working on them right now. Not so much on the Grey Knights though I'm afraid.

Ah, I'm afraid that I didn't get to that one. Nor could they tell me the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow. Although I believe it depends upon whether said bird is an African or European Swallow.
