It would be nice but...then again...why would you want to take a Thunderfire cannon? :P

probably for the next SM codex (quite possibly in the 2nd/Xth wave), so not for a while.

They play hell on IG and Orks. if you take 2 of them they work quite wel land backed by scouts with sniper rifles works nicely

Hmm that's an interesting idea, Ill have to try that out next time I play IG
I usually play Marines and MEQ armies so I've never had the chance to directly use one in a game

I always take a Thunderfire Cannon paired with sniper scouts with Telion. The Thunderfire Cannon either serves as a distraction or it dishes out more firepower than it deserves at 25 points (Techmarine w/ Servo Harness is 75 points so the cannon is only +25 points over that). Having the Thunderfire Cannon means you get the Techmarine's Bolster Defenses so bolster whatever ruins you put your Telion scouts in; they now have a 3+ cover save. Now look at Telion, he has stealth and stealth is confered to the entire unit. Those 125 point sniper scouts (that can pick where Telion's wounds go) now have a 2+ cover save.
For 225 points you got the Vindicare Assassin's utlity of picking out models in units (Telion), Terminator-grade cover saves (Stealth + Bolster defenses), a Blast 4 weapon with three firing modes (Thunderfire), and a full-fledged techmarine.

if you take MoF than you can have dreads in your elites slots to free up the heavy slots and I use scouts to induces pinning and if there in cover us the air brust, I bbq 2 full squads of ratlins and a command squad. so happy hunting:)

The MOTF allows you to take dreads in the heavy slot, they are already elites ;p

More than once I've had a Land Raider immobilized from a T-cannon and cr@ppy dice rolls...which are pretty common for me. :(

I would love to get a Thunderfire Cannon for the model alone, provided they ever release it in something other than metal.

I think they are quite under rated. Cheap, in a FOC slot that rarely gets filled, each unsaved wound kills 2 scarab bases, and the techmarine does his crazy fortify cover thing.
Especially down at wargames con where they had two big ruins on each table. Putting devastors and dakka dreds in ruins with a 3+ cover... it was a pain in the butt to deal with.

Thunderfire cannons are a real freakin pain to deal with. Having all those different modes of fire makes them be able to combat almost anything.

My understanding is that it will be made in finecast at somepoint this year. No solid claims on this just local rumors around the local store.

In a brony marine army to represent pinky pies party cannon?? :D
So tempted to do a brony marine army, as much as I do not want to make a new marine army, my Black templars being a joy. I would love to troll much of the community, get a laugh at tournies, and have some nice conversions. Plus I could troll my store manager, use Spacewolf book and use MLP dolls as TWC :) He is a very avid SW player and may just annoy him.
