This is my Land Raider variant: Named the Apollo after the Greek Sun God. It took some time to get the kinks worked out of the design but I got it. And I made it fully magnetic to switch out weapons.Achilles, Apollo, Executioner, and one with a Demolisher cannon.no name yet on that platform. so what do you think so far. C/C

I like it. It looks very clean and natural to the model. I can't seem to get the pictures to open bigger yet though.

I like it but pictures need to bigger. I haven't seen any of the new land Riader variant kits but they look really cool.

Great work, but...

I don't think your tank has enough plasma. ;)

I love what you've done with the removable thunderfire/plasma cannon. The sponsons too; adding those plasma cannisters to the back really gives a much more finished/functional feel to them. Keep it up.

Does look like you got a bit of subsidence on one of the front track guards. Was the resin bent a bit?

I got a fever and the only cure is moar plasma cannons. But seriously looks great bet your opponents will have mixed emotion about the tank when they see it....almost looks too good to blow up.

I'm glad you like it.just fitted together the Punisher cannon and twin linked assault cannons too.Need a name for this one.The look on an opponents face when all three Achilles hits the table is awesome:eek:

It looks awesome. Thank for the bigger pics!

Id be tempted to convert a magnetised pintel storm bolter so I can swap it with a twin linked plasma gun.

Having said that Hyperos missile pod for the top might be overkill...

No I didn't glue the top of the land raider down, about to paint it and one question for all whats your take on the color for plasma(not a fan of the blue ) seen green and a few other colors
Thanks Pendragon38

Before Dawn of War plasma was always green in my mind.

What colour is your marine chapter? Take the opportunity for a good spot colour.

The colors for my SMs is grey base, chaos black and DA green for the main coats, with chainmail silver and red gore for trim spots on the tank. I was thinking of sunbrust yellow for the plamsa charge.

Good start. I like purple for plasma, partly because it is fun to say. That said, a nice bright yellow would work too (guess it's a bit late now :P)

This beast looks great! But since you have gone this far, you might as well got more plasma! Make the pintle stormbolter a twin-link plasma gun as well! :P

I know you are going with the sun god theme by choosing yellow, but its a hard colour to pull off and may be too unconventional. When someone sees this for the first time, you would want them to be only thinking 'oh wow! what an amazing model' and not 'yellow plasma?!'.

Also, with the red top and green all over, yellow plasma in the middle may make this beauty resemble a traffic light. :P

I always do plasma with a very watered down, almost wash like snot green over a silver base. Gives the green a nice shinny effect. If you really want to go all out, you could try sprinkling a layer of very fine salt grains after you painted the silver. After that is dry, paint over with a slightly thinned down snot green. After dried, very carefully chip off the salt grains (a credit card works well in my experience), and then paint over with a very watered down snot green.

That should give you a very nice multi-layer metalic shine through the green.

Maybe try it out on something medium like a plasma cannon to see how you like the effect first. I would post a picture, but none of the ones I have taken seem to quite capture the effect well. I think the flash overpowers the subtle effects.
