My passion for nids was definatly renewed. I bought 2 tervigon/tfex kits and made both. awesome kits and am currently running a league in which I'm ruining everyone with nids some how. I def got the bug back.

Currently running three tervigons. They are just amazing for the points cost. At a tourney 3 weeks ago they spit out 75 termagants and I ran out of models. Give them a few upgrades and your termagants can really cause serious damage.

I played a pick up game about 2 weeks ago now and my single tervigon made 62 termigaunts. flooded the board with the little buggers and thanks to my venomthrope they refused to die.

I'll admt I'd been a couple months out of bringing my army around. Got a model and the big gun made me build a tyrannofex. Pulled the bugs out with a new idea how to get it done and had a bit of fun figuring out if my idea would work. Definitely gonna be bringing them out next week

Still wish I played them but want to see what happens to them in 6th ed

I'm thinking about getting a tyranofex. I have always loved nids. That's why I started playing themm in the first place :P

Anyway I don't like tervigons in general but I will be continueing my nid army!

it actually kinda killed it for me, the sheer bulk of the new tervigons hoses them for the cover saves you need to get them across the board, short of a crusher brood in front of them (which is what i do) you are gonna get mowed down by high power ranged.

Not in the least. I'm sitting on the fence about selling them actually.

I sold my Nids around a year ago, it was a large assortment of horribly painted and random models. Seeing these new models has REALLY made me want to pick some up and try my hand at them again. ><'

It's very tempting, I'll hold off for now but I sense a future project on the winds...

I haven't lost my 'Nid passion since 2nd edition. Then again, I'm of the old guard mentality. You pick an army and stick with it through thick and thin. If you feel attracted to other armies, you might start them, but you never leave your first.

I hear you there, I've been playing nids since '98 and have always thoroughly enjoyed playing them. Now They're not the powerhouse army they used to be, but that has just challenged me to change and adapt...just like the nids fluff. I've played most armies out there now and have had various success in different arenas.

One off games are fun and I try to not play the "tournament" army, and experiment with all the units in the book. Playing apocalypse has been challenging, I don't have a lot of FW models to supplement my army so those games are usually just massive 40k games for me. Every once in awhile I'll attend a tournament to see how they fair, and usually end up around the middle rung with the current edition. The previous editions I've won some local tournaments but never gone to any large game days. Still an "acheivement" I need to accomplish.

Did the new models renew my fervor? Not really, I've already converted 3 Tervigons and not really interested in the Tyranofex...though I'll eventually make one and play some games with him to see what kind of impact it can make, though on paper...it's just meh.

Tyranids are my first and still favorite army. Even with the new Codex and FAQs. My win/loss ratio is still very good and people at my FLGS dread fighting MY Tyranids.

I pre-ordered three Tervigon/Tyrannofex kits when I saw pics of them!! Got them as soon as they arrived at my FLGS and got them assembled the very next day. Painting although has been a long, slow process. I won't field a model until it is at least 'Table Legal'. I'll give my opponent at least that much respect. And it's incentive to paint!

I'm hoping that Tyranids will get some 6th Edition love with the inclusion of a new Codex, but I'm not holding my breath. In the meantime, with insane Codex Creep and more and more Anti-Tyranid Codexes out there (I'm looking at you Grey Knights!) it's tough being a Tyranid fan. But we shall adapt. We shall overcome.

No matter what happens, at least our army will still look the best!

Yes, i bought three kits. Two tervi,s and a tyrannofex. I was able to break the GS off my converted carnis without any damage to the models. Now my caris look small lol. Nids were my first army since i took a ten year break back in RT days. Ive had more fun with nids then i ever did with marines. I now have marines( (three flavors), dark eldar' and IG. Nids will always be my favorite.

The new releases have made me pretty happy. I've wanted to run a bonesword warrior list for quite a while. I really like the bonesword kit. I'm also pretty happy about the plastic tyrant kit. I'm probably going to start my Nid army.

The new kits are cool. I plan on picking up another Tyrant so I can make a winged variant...and maybe a third that I can make into the Swarmlord.

I want to like the Tyrannofex - it really offers something unique to the army and the model is nice! But I have a strict no-gun policy in my 'nid army, and I can't bring myself to break it.

I would love some Tervigons, if only they could spawn Hormigaunts. :(

It will as soon as I can afford to buy more models. :(

I picked up a Tervigon and Tyrant because the models are great! Now I have to figure out a list but they'll look good on display in the meantime. I wouldn't have considered Tyranids before those kits came out. The Trygon is quite nice too and I hope they release a Harpy soon, I love the look of bugs with wings.

>_< yes!!!! i want the new kits and to repaint all of my nids, but unfortunately for the nids i have both tau(FW battlesuit) and ghostly grey knight projects both going on at the moment, even with the painting/modeling help of my fiance i dare not take on a third, lest i get poison in my next meal

Kinda. I've wanted to run Nids and might build a genestealer/Swarmlord list with the new kit. Really, though, it's waiting for 6th Ed to see if Nids get a boost from their struggles.

I never lost the passion for Nids and doubt if I ever will. The new models are gorgeous. I think the size of the Tervigon/Tyrannofex is appropriate. If cover is an issue roll out some Venomthropes.

I love my Tyranids, they are my first and largest army. The new models did get my mojo going again. God I love the new Tyrant kit, I was more excited about that then the Tervigon kit haha. Also got going on my scheme touch up project... its gonna take a while but it breathed the life back into my fleet.

Those Boneswards and Lashwhips for the warriors though... wtf at the price... like really *facepalm*

Game wise, I don't give a crap anymore. Tournament level play just shows how GW cant ballance their bloody game, thanks codex creep. All the armies I play are considered subpar codexes, well, maybe Orks are up there as decent. I do ok with my Tyranids, but man my games always feel like uphill struggles.

If cover is an issue roll out some Venomthropes.

I second that on the venomthropes. I have one that goes in my list and hides behind monstrous creatures. It's actually rare for him to get shot even.

I was days away (tomorrow actually) from buying my friend's Nids army from him. He had lost interest in the game, as he has no skills at conversions and the models he felt he needed to win didn't exist. He's really not too deep into the modelling/painting to be fair. But now, there's no way he'll let these pass to me, and now I have a Nids hunger. That Tervigon is disgusting in the most fantastic way.

The new releases for nids were very under whelming

The tervigon looks pretty good but a year to late for me since i already made mine and dont need 2 more 50 dollar models. The hive tyrant with wings should have been done years ago and since they now are super expensive to add wings to just seem like a waste.

but over all they look decent haha

The new tyrant certainly renewed my nid hunger. I picked one up yesterday at my FLGS (I have never owned a Tyrant before so it benefited me) and the kit is just so awesome. A little pricey for a two sprue model but I love the pose and turned him into a Flyrant. I plan on grabbing one official tervigon and continuing to use my old converted one.

I'm not sure if the models renewed the love that I had for my Tyranids before this book, but it certainly helped make me want to field them again.

I don't think my passion for nids changed at all, just excited I finally got those kits. I am still waiting on my bonesword/lashwhip kit though, as my game shop is having trouble getting it. It is for my tyrant guard so its not a big deal. I love my nids though so nothing can make that passion go away or get stronger, nids are teh best. NOMNOMNOM

Nids were my second army and one of my favorites but, this release didn't do anything for me towards getting them off the shelf. While I love the size of the Tervigon (no more of the ridiculously small conversions based on Carnys), aesthetically I'm under-whelmed. I think the conversions based on a combination of Trygon and Arachnarok are a far better choice and are almost as large.

Started off with teh nids when i was a kid.

Cool to see how models have evolved, and though i don't play them that often anymore, i must say, that Winged Hive Tyrant and Tyrannofex do seem tempting.. I'll see what i might do after getting the DAs ready before the next codex.

new release didnt do much for me. Still have all of my bugs boxed away since about 1.5 years ago, last time i opened the box was to look for some of my SM bitz.
