Hello!
I just finished another of Warhammer 40K books and got really fired up on this new project.
I want to make a miniature of one of Dark Angels Captains - Belial, but i'm not going to make his "late" version as a Master of Deathwing, instead i want to make him as a 3rd Company Master - as you can see him in The Purging of Kadillus by Gav Thrope (http://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/The-Purging-of-Kadillus.html). It really is a good book to read.
At the begining there is a ilustration on wich i will roughly base my mini

Of course i'm not going to be very strict with that, I don't think I would be able to use him in game tough at least not with WYSIWYG.

My main goal is to make him look cool.

the begining of the conversion:

And here is some blu-tack mock up with arms and head. yes i'm using power fist and i'm going to sb his sword. (or at least try to)

After many many tries i got the basic shape of his sword, altough i would love some comments on it (too thick? too short?), now that i look at it it needs a lot of work still.... oh well

Also started adding bits and pieces to main body (head is still on blue-tac) as well as one of the arms.

According to The Bearded One - his proportions are now a lot better and more realisitic, wich makes me happy cause that's what i'm going for (aside from the Rule of Cool).

And let's have some size comparisons as well.
next to normal marine:

next to terminator:

I had to wait for some Dark Angels bits to arrive, instead of getting them on wednesdey they arrived on friday -_-

Anyway I managed to finish bulding him and started base coating and did some work on his base

After consultation with Hive Lord Decay I decided to re-do the sword, and now the Hive is pleased, it would be great to hack some of his spawns with it one day

And here we have the start of the base, this is the "scenic" base but i'm still thinking about doing a "game" base in case i would ever play 40K.
