I want to make some ghost knights that are physically distinguishable from my normal terminators. The idea was to buy some new plastic terminators and instead of using the legs score some kind of ghostly cloud. I'm not having much luck and was hoping someone might have an idea for a conversion source. :D

Stuff cotton around their legs and paint it blue. There are some techniques out there to paint cotton balls and make it look like smoke and explosions and stuff, track them down and use the same principles.

I would like to try to inspire you with these bozo's;

Which require robed legs and maybe some greenstuff to make the Tim Burton esque curly bits.

Some robed legs could be found here;http://www.shop.microartstudio.com/crusaders-legs-set-p-314.html the fact that underneath the robes they are power armour and therefore skinnier could work to your advantage on the ghostly look. maybe add a spacer or a belt to make them even taller? up to you to play with.

Surely just get GK Terminators and paint them up in ghostly blues and greens?

Maybe you could use the bottom half of Cryx bane Knights?

Or Cryx Bane Thralls?

Hmmm, I am loath to allow the blighted forces of the Dragon Father into my home, but Bane units would give me the proper etherial effect and some parts for making my murder servitor penal legion. The cost is so prohibitive right now though. I wonder if there's to large a difference in size for Blackbane's Ghost Raiders to be used. It would be a little more work cutting the exposed leg out and replacing it but might give more of a 'stepping out of the mist' feel. They'd also give little tricorne hats to the murder servitors and that's a nice bonus.
Thanks a lot everyone!

Why not just take the paint scheme used for the army of the dead in the Lord of The Rings game, and or the many ghostly things in the vampire counts list?

That was going to be my solution to the problem when I was pondering what to add to my old metal knights.

ho matey! I just repainted my OOP grey knights terminators, I painetd them very similiar to death wing, some sort of like old papirus colour 'ish' . its too many green ghostly models on table in my opinion, ( it look's fine its just too many)

There is a lot of smoke effect on the new VC coven throne with a bit of green stuff that should spread to a whole squad. Not exactly a cheap way to do it though unless you can find the key parts on ebay etc.

Something to think about would be to not use the legs and then take a pit of pin and greenstuff a flowing cloth or etherial tail between the model and the ground, or even just mount the torsos on flying stands and have half termies floating over the ground.

Dont mistake me for the artist lol, I was looking for inspiration for mine and these came out tops for me.

Those look pretty amazing, but it also looks like they're using a black light and special paints. Which is nice but isn't something you'd be able to show off with at the game table.

But if I'm wrong and that glow effect is just an awesome paint job and good normal lighting then that may be the best terminator paint job in history of ever.

It's a white light flash so I don't think it's a black light effect. It is killer rad though and I'm thinking even more effective than the massive chop job I was planning.
