Turn 1
The defence setup by the Fists is in the middle of the board and stretches right across and looks like a cross shape. One side has both ironclads, the other side marked with craters. The extended parts of the defence line held a terminator unit in each, at the far ends one icarus lascannon.
I.W's get 4 firestorms and manage to kill one marine from the lightning claw sgt's combat squad, luckily the MoF was placed with them and gave them a 3+ cover save behind defence lines. The following units come into play via deep strike: 1 x daemon prince, 2 x chaos terminators, 1 x chaos dreadnought, 1 x chaos marines & 2 x chaos vindicators.
The daemon prince comes onto the board on the crater side, it scatters and lands in terrain but passes dangerous terrain test. Both chaos terminator units scatter off the board and are both lost in the warp! Chaos dreadnought comes on via deep strike on the crater side and lands on target close to the left bastion. Chaos marines land on target and land close to the left bastion also, but on the ironclad dreadnought guarded side. Both chaos vindicators roll on from deployment side, which is same side as the ironclad dreadnought side - except they come on at the table edge furtherest away from them, so they are moving down the table if that makes sense.
Chaos marines fire at the left bastion and score crew shaken. One chaos vindicator fires at the chain fist ironclad and scores immobilised result, other vindicator fires at a combat squad deployed in a ruin outside the bastion, scatters and misses. Chaos dreadnought fires multi melta at left bastion and unluckily does no damage.
Imperial Fists turn, captain and assault terminators take terrain test over defence lines towards chaos marines by left bastion. Chaplain and terminators take terrain test over defence line and towards the daemon prince (red prince). Combat squad outside the bastion in terrain move towards vindicator to make sure that meltagun rolls 2d6! Venerable dreadnought takes two terrain tests and heads towards taking on chaos dreadnought counterpart.
Combat squad in the ruin wreck the chaos vindicator with a big melta hole. MoF fires icarus lascannon at the other vindicator and scores no damage, combat squad with rocket launcher also fires at the last chaos vindicator and does no damage, despite aiming for side armour. Combat squad with heavy bolter, terminators and assault cannon dreadnought fire at the daemon prince and live it with just one wound remaining after scoring several rending hits! Combat squad by the other icarus lascannon target the chaos dreadnought with meltagun and put and hole in it and pop it!
Turn 2
Last daemon prince (grey prince), chaos dreadnought, chaos terminators and chaos marines come on. Chaos dreadnought moochs on from deployment zone, grey prince deep strikes and scatters by venerable dreadnought but misses terrain. Chaos terminators teleport at the edge of the ruin outside the defence where the combat squad is, and the chaos marines scatter and deep strike into terrain where the red prince is.
Red prince moves through terrain ready to assault chaplain and terminators and chaos marines by left bastion move as much out of sight from the combat squad by the icarcus lascannon.
The chaos terminators light up the captain and assault terminators with combi meltas and kill two of the thunderhammer armed ones. Chaos marines score another crew shaken result on the left bastion. The chaos dreadnought meltas one marine from the combat squad in the ruin with its multimelta. Chaos vindicator fires at the MoF, shots scatters hits the right bastion and wrecks it!
The red prince charges the chaplain and terminators, the prince rolls for warptime psychic power and passes psychic test ok, then butchers the terminators and leaves just one remaining and the chaplain with one wound - the chaplain and terminator fall back 7" back inside the defence line. Chaos terminators charge the captain and assault terminators, captain for once hits something and kills a chaos terminator the result was the imperial fists loosing combat and falling 4" back behind the defence line with the surviving captain and one hammer terminator. Grey daemon prince assaults the venerable and passes psychic test for warptime, the venerable is crew shaken, stunned and looses the dccw.
The assault cannon dreadnought passes two terrain tests over the defence line and into terrain to tackle the chaos marines which deep striked in.
In the Fist shooting phase the chaos terminators get targetted by every gun and only one is left standing. Assault cannon dreadnought guns down three chaos marines, two which are rending hits. Red prince is gunned down by rending shots from the last terminators assault cannon.
In assault the venerable dreadnought takes more punishment from the grey prince and looses the assault cannon is immobilised and crew stunned. The assault cannon dreadnought charges the chaos marines and kills three, though the chaos marines pass morale and stay in combat. Combat squad in the ruin charge the chaos dreadnought, score no damage thuogh with kraks and power fist and take 2 wounds but stay in combat.
Turn 3
The solo chaos terminators moves to the left bastion ready to use that chain fist.
Vindicator fires at heavy bolter combat squad on ruined right bastion objective, manages to wound one marine but the marines makes the cover save. Chaos marines light up the left bastion and send it crumbling down with melta shots.
In assault grey prince batters the venerable dreadnought some more. Chaos marines and solo chaos terminator charge combat squad in the ruins of the left bastion and kill all but one, the surviving marine with the rocket launcher falls back 7" towards centre of the hold. Chaos dreadnought kills all but one marine (one armed with the melta gun) which falls back 4". The assault dreadnought wittles away at the chaos marines in combat it takes no damage but the chaos marines pass morale and keep it tied up in close combat.
All guns fire into the chaos marines on the objective but score few wounds and kills.
In assult chaplain and solo terminator assault the grey daemon prince, score no wounds and are killed themselves. The prince puts the other two attacks on the venerable dreadnought and polishes it off, the prince consolidates 6" onto the ruined left bastion. Captain dettaches from the hamemr termiantor and charges the chaos marines along with the combat squad by the icarus lascannon by the left bastion, the combat squad are wiped out from the champions power weapon and three chaos marines are killed by the captain, but the pesky chaos marines stay in combat! The hammer terminator charges the chaos terminator but both pass armour saves.
Turn 4
All units are locked in assault, apart from daemon prince which moves onto the objective more.
In the shooting phase only the chaos dreadnought fires and misses the meltagun totting solo imperial fist.
In assault captain kills two chaos marines, but they pass morale. Hammer terminator kills chaos terminator and more chaos marines are splattered by the assault cannon dreadnought.
Lighting claw combat squad move out from cover intending to take out the last vindicator.
Meltagun marine attempts to pop chaos dreadnought but no cigar, meltagun from lighting claw squad attempts same thing on chaos vindicator but no luck.
In assault captain cuts down more chaos marines and hammer terminator assaults daemon prince, luckily passes several saves from the princes attacks and remains in combat. Assault dreadnought tears two more chaos marines into pieces.
Turn 5
Vindicator fires at combat squad on right objective and kills two marines but not enough to remove them all. Chaos dreadnought meltas the meltagun imperial fist.
In assault daemon prince finishes off the thunderhammer terminator and the captain kills the last two chaos marines. The assault dreadnought minces the last three chaos marines and consolidates into terrain back towards the right bastion objective.
On the last fist turn the assault cannon dreadnought moves through terrain but not close enough to help secure the objective.
In the shooting turn the combat squad in front of the vindicator strike lucky and pop it with the meltagun. The captain assaults the daemon prince, scores no wounds and the captain makes the saves needed.
DRAW! Imperial Fists hold one objective and Iron Warriors hold one with the Imperial Fist captain, though as per Planetstrike rules attacker claims it!
