So I got to attend this event because I happened to be in the Bay area last weekend. A nice size tournament with just under 100 players in teh 40K portion (including Thomas Reidy aka Goatboy). I have written a blog article on it with photos here:

And you can get full results from the Bay Area Open/ Frontline gaming website here:

As with all tournaments, the more press they get the better. And the three organizers were good guys.

I was also there, in the 40k singles and team tournaments. Both were a lot of fun, though I was disappointed with a 25th place finish in the singles. Not a great showing. I can blame it on a couple of stupid mistakes in my last game that dropped it from a win to a tie, and horrible dice in my first game that made it impossible to win.

Aside from that, it was an awesome event and a ton of fun.

Attached are some random pictures of stuff. Someone had some My Little Pony minis for objective markers, those big floating rocks were not terrain but counts-as vendettas (WTF?), and some of the top painted armies. They're taken with my camera phone, so not the highest quality.

Here's also the actual results page, with tons of pictures: http://www.frontlinegaming.org/community/bay-area-open/bay-area-open-2012-results/

Here's a picture with me, Kevin Brown, Yakface, and several of the Zero Comp guys, part-way through the team tournament.

Sounds like a great event. A small group from Biloxi hope to attend next year. Maybe with Eldar...
