Ive been dormant for far too long. In a whirlwind of inspiration, I decided to build the forge world hydra and Armageddon pattern Basilisk.
Although I must admit, I intentionally didn't attempt to replicate them exactly, I put the "macro" details on (form, basic design) but left the "micro" details off for the sake of sanity and lack of correct plastics.
NOTE: These were not plastic-engineered. I eyeballed things and started cutting, sanding, gluing.... pulling things apart.... re-glue them... cursed in disdain and continued instead of my usual obsessing on perfection. So anything that is messed up, I'm okay with.... for now. Paint is preliminary. Some touch ups forthcoming.
Chassis represents one of about 8 such for swapping modular payloads.

Sorry for cellphone pics. My cam simcard is missing.

Any how-to or details on how you built them?

They are both plasticard scratch builds. I have a basic diagram of the hydra but not the basilisk.
I will dig it up and post it. There are no measurements on the images (to avoid possible IP infringements).
I made the platforms fit into a chimera chassis so I can swap whatever payload I desired.

Let me go look for the image.

Modular approach is a really good idea, and I like the way you've done it. Also this has made me pine for the old chimera kit. New one is easier to put together but I preferred the look of the old. Thanks for the inspiration though, time to get my tools

Might be just me, but the hydra guns look to large for the chimera. I'm sure no one would stop you from using it in a tournament. It just looks off to me. The armored basilisk looks pretty good. The paint job looks pretty good.

The barrel proportions might very well be off. I was using pics to gauge the general size of things and my material selection also dictated what I ultimately used.

Here is my basic layout drawing I did (after the fact) of the hydra:
