I don't have a 40k army yet, and want to get one so I can play with my group after our WM/H Journeyman League ends. I've been looking at Orks, Grey Knights, and Space Wolves lately. I know GK and SW seem to be OP, but I like the lore and look of all 3 armies. Orks seem overwhelming to paint though, and I have a hard time playing anything unpainted, so they may need to wait until I retire in 40 years and have time to paint the green tide.

Actually one of things I would like to get is a lot of the bat wings from the dark eldar jump troops set (forget the name atm). For I am a big fan of the stories of this game and the ones in the codexes; so when I read what Ward had the grey knights due in the codex to the sisters after pre-ordering a few boxes some tinkering occurred.

My girlfriend tried seeing how a grey knight looked after attaching some of those wings to the back and he looked very cool. So that brought up the idea of doing an army like that:)

For I figured if Ward would have a group of people so "pure" that they are supposedly now ok to butcher sisters and bathe in their blood...I figured maybe this once failsafe against temptation army would indeed be able to falter a bit...

After that, well I probably won't have any money left because I'm going to get the best, of the best, of the best, the top 2% if you will... of army carrying bags, and have them customized to be all Jawsome. Army's signs engraved, the color won't be straight black it will be some other neat-o color, badges put on and what not. You know, cool stuff.

Pretty simple, really. The Eldar army I have is extremely out of date (the majority of models I have are metal), so updating those would be first on my list. I need Fire Dragons, new Wraithlords, and some Wave Serpents to join the Forge World kit Wave Serpent I put together years ago. I could probably use another pack of Harlequins to go along with the 6 I already have, too.

As a Tau player with only 1 and a half devilfish in his motor pool, I would try to shore up the numbers, along with a few new broadsides/crisis suits. Obviously.

However, I've got a few buddies I play with on a regular basis, and they are really great guys, but their armies are all relatively small. So, I'd do something along the lines of let each of them pick a kit or something equivalent and get it for them. I mean, where's the fun in showing up with $400 worth of new toys and all of them are stuck with the same old, same old?

Grey Knights: 3rd Dreadknight (i've fallen in love with these :) ), couple of razorbacks, 2-3 boxes of terminators, 2 boxes of strike squads (+ sanquinary guard jump pack bits to make super cool interceptor squad). This however is a bit under scrutiny, since if 6th. ed wont bring some more or less major change to how potent the interceptors are, then i would probably just go with the regular GKSS. Also, i've always looking a good reason to get me a 3rd landraider and 3rd stormraven.. :)

which leads me to a bit of a sidetrack question: I have already built 2x landraiders and 2x razorbacks (gw-stock variants).. However, i would very much like to change the doors for the ForgeWorld GK-themed doors: Now, i am not a master with a blade and hammer; how easy would it be to dismantle the already built doors and swap for the new ones? (the opening mechanics wont need to work after the transformation)

I have a million Mutant Chronicles troopers (from the bag of 80 for like £10, wow a bargain!) but no vehicles to go with them, so I'd be stocking up on Imperial Guard tanks. They are destined to be Khorne and Nurgle worshipping traitors for use with the Vraks lists, and hopefully the next Chaos Space Marine codex if it allows my Alpha Legion to field cannon fodder cultists/traitor guard again!
