I see advertizements on BOLS al the time. But how is it that Spikey Bitz updates their blog almost everyday with ads that get spammed into the regular blog posts? I can understand wanting to reach new costumers but c'mon.

While it certainly means that you need to watch what you click on, I find that most of his blog (http://blog.spikeybits.com/) posts are worth a read.
Distracting: yes. Annoying: not so much for me.

I would understand if they posted helpful info for people. But now it seems like a cheap and shameless advertizing stunt.

This is neither News nor a Rumor. Maybe general discussion?

I think a lot of the conversion articles are really nice, gives great ideas. Although the constant advertisements I do tend to just skip over, luckily there a different color of text.
Nothing is free! If I have to endure a little advertising to not have to pay for entertainment, fine. This is how the internet works now that it's through with it's infant stage.

Doesn't make it right. They have ads on this site and others that they pay for. Why allow them to do that for free? I guess if the "powers that be" that run this site are okay with it then fine.

I assumed it was part of their sponsorship deal. What better way to advertise than inspiring conversions? I look at their articles as infomercials. I know they're trying to push their website, but some of the conversions are really good and give me free inspiration. And if BOLS does let them do it as part of their advertising deal, and it keeps this site open, I'm cool with that.

I don't mind his little blurb at the end of his articles. I usually like his ideas on converting stuff but usually find it to expensive for my tastes. Like his wraith coversion. it looked nice but I don't seeing myself buying all those bits to make one let alone 6 of them. I just pieced some stuff together until the real model or something done well like the upcoming model from puppets war.

Yes, but the key issue is that your opinion doesn't actually count. In fact, all that matters is that you log in and read. Whether you like it or not like it doesn't matter. What matters is that you log in and read. That's how this model works, so quit your naive griping. Also, your desire to put this practice into the realm of morality is completely inappropriate. Sure, MBG's methods are tacky, but this isn't a matter where we need to institute moral judgements..

Most of his conversion articles are quite good and enjoyable to read. He should stay away from writing those Knowledge Bombs; they hurt my brain.
