I, like many people I'm sure, want great coats on my guardsmen. Are there any companies that sell a conversion kit for this? I'd like to avoid the greenstuff option for as my skills are somewhat lacking in that particular department.

Are you trying to avoid Valhallan models? How about Delaque gangers from Necromunda?

If you're open to using non-GW products, check out Wargames Factory. They make some plastic troopers in greatcoats that are pretty close to IG and shouldnt be too hard to convert. Theyre also multipart too, with heads and weapons seperate if I recall right.

Sorry I should have said the look I was going for, whoops . I'm trying to build an army of Browncoats from Firefly. Vallhallans and Delaques would be a nice way to spice up some of the units though. And thanks for mentioning the Wargames Factory figs.

There's an army for that: Death Korps of Krieg. Nice looking models, all in greatcoats. Downside is they all have gas masks.

The other downside is, of course, the exorbitant cost.
Definitely go for the wargames factory shock troopd.

Hoard o' bits (http://hoardobits.com)sells just the bodiesof the greatcoats if you don't want to use the great coat arms. I have build a death korps style unit using these bodies and a ton of left over cadian arms.

Well, maxmini is coming out with some DKOK style great coats soon, keep an eye out for them. If you want to make your own I would suggest this tutorial. http://sadoukad16.blogspot.com/2010/04/greatcoat-trenchers-finished.html
