Hello all.
In my real life I'm a middle school science teacher in Oakland, CA. My other interests include roleplaying games and both writing and reading all sorts of science fiction and fantasy. I'm a recent convert to the way of wargames. I have a (small and awaiting a new codex) Tau army, a Blood Angels army, a Lizardmen force, a Cygnar battlegroup, and an Everblight battlegroup. I have resisted buying into Infinity and Malifaux, so far.
So far.
You're probably going to see a lot of me here, since Bell of Lost Souls is one of the few forums not blocked by my school site's firewalls. I'm also a Bell of Lost Souls reader, and have been for months now - that's how I found these forums. The Bell itself, though, I found through an image search for stuff related to Blood Angels, though I can't recall what exactly anymore. I'll probably ask and offer advice about painting and modeling and post a lot of army lists. List building is the part of the game that I feel least competent about, so I'm always eager to learn.
My interest in wargames is balanced between casual and competitive, craft and play. Basically, I play for fun, but I don't have fun if I don't feel like I stand a chance of winning. I really enjoy the craft of painting my models, but I paint them to look striking on the tabletop, not to gather dust on a shelf. I am - or at least I aim to be - a renaissance wargamer.
Also, I have an awesome supportive wife who bought me a second box of Sanguinary Guard for Valentine's Day.
That's about it.
