My girlfriend decided to jump into 40K with a Chaos Space Marine army, she spent the whole weekend assembling a Chaos Defiler and looking greedily to my Space Marine Dreadnoughts... so I've built for her a Chaos Dreadnought from a Sentinel I had assembled and lying forgotten, bits (mainly a twin-linked Land raider lascannon), plasticard and left overs from her Chaos sprues... it was that or my SM army will slowly convert into Chaos XD

Here are the pictures:

looks good you probably could have done this over the AOBR dread to save some time .

Thanks for the comments... I just grabbed what I had in hand... and no AOBR Dread was available at the moment... I'm using the sentinel legs so it will look even more different and hopefully chaotic...

I will keep posting photos :D

converting the plastic bigger models will be more satisfying & easier to customize.

That dred looks really good (i tried a scratch build, but mine never turned out at all)

I always liked the long arm the Chaos Dreadnought had... and now I'm doing my own version.

The chicken legs are a very early WIP and it needs some claws and more armour... and maybe a tabard.

Looking good. Might have to steal what you did with the defiler arm for my dread ;) I've been trying to decide how to do the arms for a while now.

Really cool scratch-build! Normally I'm not a fan of Dreads with Sentinel legs, but I think in this case it'll give the model a predatorial sense of stalking forward. Nice work :)

Crappier pictures, but closer to finished. It's missing the talons and putty work...

Awesome! I've seen my good share of Sentinel legs used for dreads, but that's the best one I'm aware of, because ysou managed to beef them up enough and place them in a way so that it actually looks like the legs could support the torso. If you manage to pull off the same stunt on his belt area, it'll be hell of a model.

Hey thanks... I think the belt area will be done with putty... and it will include some sort of tabard... to add to the Chaos feel.

I do not like the bio-organic look for this model (already done that in this model: http://www.coolminiornot.com/154322 ) so it will be more mechanic looking.

OK after a while my GF pointed out that I've left this Chaos Dreadnought standing by and that she is planning to paint the thing and learn to play... in fact I was planning to teach her but got caught with adding the final touches... so now here it comes final pictures before paint, now with a tail.

That is awesome!
I love it. Very inspiring, can't wait to see how your GF paints it up.
I've conscripted my GF to help me finish painting my nids for the new codex, then she's working on her space marines.

Wow! No matter how crappy the rules for a chaos dreadnought are would field one every game if it looked like that! It just might inspire me to build one just to put on the shelf.

Awesome, I hope your GF appreciates the amount of work that is!

Looking forward to seeing the primer and final paint pics.

My friend stuck that defiler mask on a furioso dreadnought for his chaos dreadnought. It looks awesome.

That really does look great; I hope your significant other is really happy with her one-of-a-kind piece of chaos forged awesomeness!
