What is up with white dwarf? They don't even show next months army release now. I remember they used to show the army and the upcoming products for advance order. Why don't they do this anymore and will they again?

Just Games-workshops way of keeping everything under wraps. Independant retailers no longer get a heads up either.

The advance news lockdown is apparently part of the T&C's of their license for The Hobbit game. See this (http://www.lounge.belloflostsouls.net/showthread.php?t=19046) thread for more info

That is just guessing. Could be just GWs stupidness. They have done alot of stupid things before, so they don't need no Hobbit Licesnce to do stupidity.

It isn't just guessing, it has been mentioned and corroborated by many reliable sources. It also makes sense, unlike the 'GW r idiotz' theory.

To be fair Eldargirl there is enough historical evidence for a "GW r idiotz" argument that it wouldn't surprise anyone.

Not really, most of what they do makes sense from their perspective even if it isn't necessarily the best choice of action, let alone the popular choice with their customers. The only thing I can think of at the moment which makes little sense is the wya WD subscribers were treated under the recently revoked policy. Having subscribers get their WD later than people who could buy it in a local store was silly.

If you cast your mind back to this time last year, GW had officially announced the forthcoming army releases for several months in advance which generated an aweful lot of excitement. Then part way through the year they suddnely stopped and everything went quiet. I assumed that was to keep the big summer release (SoM) under wraps, but then a while later they confirmed the Hobbit license had been acquired. No one connected these things, but it obviously explains the sudden and unneccessary change in policy and makes more snese than GW having consulted the Oracle and interpreted the entrails to decide on abadoning a successful policy

You mean "GW looks like idiotz because they're the only ones who know everything that's going on and we don't get to see most of their justification for many moves that only make sense if you know the driving reason?":p
